New BX Series - BX**90

Kubota introduced the BX "90" Series.

Looks like the 1880 is being replaced by the 2190, and you can "Choose from Standard, Deluxe, and Premium trim levels."

Seems to be a complete redesign of the whole BX series. No mention of what the new prices will be.

Interesting that they abandoned the treadle pedal in favor of side by side HST pedals.

I find NOTHING intuitive about the side by side pedals !!!!!!!

I have to "drive" a 50 hp JD at work, the pedals are side by side - big feet - big boots, hell the computer goes bananas IF you somehow hit the two at the same time.

I know many of you do NOT like the back and forth of the rocker style - but that is intuitive naturally.

Sears Lawn Tractor, HST was a hand lever on the side with a brake pedal on the left. Kubota was/is pedal front and back and a brake on the left. JD X754 is a side by side pedal, with a brake up high and on the right ABOVE the 'go' pedals (near impossible to use except parking). Mu old brain is able to deal with going from machine to machine though I prefer the BX25D setup.

You could swap it for a B7200....then the new release won't have any affect.

I don't have a "dog in this fight", but the treadle pedal was a concern for me when I was "in the market"....

As a Noob, I originally thought that pedals similar to automotive gas/brakes would be the best.

However; The "treadle pedal" has became so familiar, so fast, that it feels very natural and I would have a difficult time adjusting to a "side-by-side" set up at this point.

Maybe(pretty sure) the "marketing guys" had something to do with the change???

One thing is for sure though...hopefully, the nimrod in charge of putting the brakes above the gas has/had nothing to do with the change

Looking at the picture of the operator station, it appears to have only three pedals: forward and reverse on the right, plus a single pedal on the left which I’m assuming is a brake rather than a foot operated manual clutch.

The electric over hydraulic push button clutch on the PTO allows deleting a manual clutch from the driveline. That’s the way my L works: it has no operator controlled clutch. I’m not a big fan of the electric over hydraulic as it doesn’t allow feathering in the PTO, but it does work and eliminates the need for a clutch on a HST machine.

Thanks, I was thinking of an electric motor powering a PTO pump instead of being engine-driven. Your explanation makes a lot more sense. Still, I'll keep my clutch pedal...

My L5030 has a electric controlled PTO, and has a clutch pedal ... I much prefer the side by side go pedals!

Link didn't work, maybe I'm on the wrong side of the border ... USA Kubota doesn't mention them

I would never go back to a rocker after using the side by side pedals. Factory cab and side by side pedals seems to be catching up with the new little Kioti that has been stealing a lot of small tractor sales. I see a ton of them replacing the little Kubotas and Deeres around here. Can't beat mowing with AC in the summer and Heat for snow removal in the winter that comes with a 3 year warranty. Electric pto is nice because you can have it shut off automatically when the implement is raised past a certain point for safety. Kubota is playing catch up to a changing, aging customer base in my mind to attract new younger buyers.

They moved the hydraulic connection higher. Like that. Have yet to remove my FEL for fear of leaking when putting it back on. Pedals wouldn't bother me from my 1880. Hate to see what they want for these. Probably twice as much. I'll stick with what I have for now.
