Man, the younger generations can't fathom the concept of my office phone being a landline and being unable to send texts to it. Blows their minds.
Want to see their brain stop working, Tell them about a party line, phone booth, or a phone bank at a hotel or airport and see how they process that.

after they regain consciousness, invite them to lunch that only accepts cash and let them drive a manual transmission. It’s doesn’t get any better than that.

I'm with you about people speaking like auctioneers with an accent but am I the only one that gets messages saying "call me" then when I call they ask for an invoice # or something that requires me going to my files? Naturally they don't want to hold while I look the info up but don't understand why they should have said what they wanted in message so I could look it up before calling.

My pet peeve is cashiers making change. Whatever happened to counting it out? "Your purchase comes to $14.79. That's 14.80, 15, and 5 makes 20." Then put the bill in the till. Now they just dump a bunch of change in your hand (or on the counter) and say "Thankyou, come again".

Of course, that all comes after establishing that you will be paying with cash rather than tapping a plastic card, mobile phone or watch against their reader.

I think I'd have opted for a 45 minute ride on the tractor!
IF you are a dealer or shop….and you need to transport a tractor:
1- One of the most dangerous activities to machines and men…are loading and unloading and driving that thing around in traffic.

2- To accomplish the task…either to move it ten miles….or just around the corner…will require ah hour of time taken from the Shop…. at shop-rates…. say $125/hr …..

Sounds fair to me.

The town nearest me built a new Burger King ….and I decided against my better judgement (and previous decision to avoid BK in the future after they moved their hdqtrs to Canada to avoid U.S. Taxes)…I thought I’d try them for a breakfast sausage-biscuit. I drove thru and picked it up and went on about my chores….and when I bit into it…found it was hard as a BRICK… and the sausage tasted like lard…. so I returned it.
There was a long line in the drive thru…so I went inside for my $2 and 28-cent (tax) refund…and waited forever until someone at the vacant counter came to ask what I wanted….
I asked for the refund and handed them the lard-covered brick…and the kid opened the cash drawer… fumbled around inside it… and handed me $11 and 28 cents.

I asked for the manager…who came and listened to my story…. I handed him the $11.28…. and he scowled at me…. dropped the money into the cash drawer and closed it…. THEN he “rang up” a sausauge-biscuit sale…. and handed me One Dollar and 28-cents.
When I told him he still owed me a dollar…. he gave me TWO MORE dollars…turned and marched back to the burger assembly-line and went back to building burgers.

IF the MONITOR shows a PIC of a BISCUIT - Sausage….then THAT is what the counter-person PUNCHES…and if acutal MONEY changes hands…(instead of a VENMO or Credit/Debit Card)…. they HAVE NO IDEA what the purpose of …. “math-a-matics” … is for.

But the General Public and the Voters continue to elect politicians who appoint IDIOTS who DISASSEMBLE the Dept of Education and DE-fund the public schools who are the source for future burger-builders…. (and support the private schools who produce the real-estate tycoons who will get tax-loopholes and exemptions and who will hire the burger-builders someday.)

Do you remember when the check out started using the readers instead of punching the price in to the register. We were shopping and the girl at the register scanned a gallon of milk and it wouldn't read it, and being the helpful kind of guy I am I told her to just put it in the buggie because it was free. She said what do you mean, welll says I if you scan it 3 times and it doesnt come up its free. The look on her face, said it all,,, OH MY they never told us that in training! I would up with an elbow to the ribs and my wife told her I was just being an AH. The kid had no clue

Might be fair, I have no idea, as I've never been to a dealer or shop for service in my life.

But I'm cheap, and have made tractor rides longer than that!

Phone calls? I have my mobile set to send all unknown callers to voicemail. 99.99% don’t leave a message. If you are not in my contacts list and it is important you will leave a message and I Will call you back.
