L185 regulator issue

The voltage regulator on my old L185 wasn't switching off. I worked the contacts and can get it to open and close but not switch off on it's own. I just put a new regulator on and can't get the alternator to put out. I switched back to the old regulator and the alternator has a good output. Anyone have an idea? There is one difference in the plug on the new regulator. In addition to the six spade terminals there is a blue female bullet connector.

Update. Found a broken wire in the 6 wire connector. Working fine.
