Yes but I was told they wouldn't run the Backhoe unless I tied the levers back!
You dont want to use the remote as a supply for the backhoe. You want to tap into the main supply for that. Your dealer should have known that.

I am not sure how all this fits together on that tractor and will have to look at the parts breakdown. Do you have a loader as well?

Use the BX25 parts, it is the same tractor as a BX2370.

The backhoe valve is unique in the fact it uses the tank return port as the power beyond port without a power beyond sleeve. This is due to the fact that the backhoe is the last valve in the chain so won’t see any back pressure from a downstream valve. While it is true that the three point control valve is down stream, that system is unusable with the backhoe installed so it cannot damage the backhoe valve.

(Third function valves also don’t use a PB sleeve but I think they are designed to survive back pressure from downstream valves.)

So a backhoe valve has a supply and return connection only, no tank return.

The BT603 has three hydraulics hoses on it. Not sure where the third goes then?

@TheOldHokie

Why does this backhoe use a three hose valve instead of a two hose valve? Is there a particular reason that Kubota changes from one to the other valve type on the backhoe?

Right off, all the Kubota backhoes that I remember have 3 hoses.

My guess is they finally realized/acknowledged their mistake.

Using a valve without PB seems to be predicated on the idea that there is no valve down stream of the hoe. That complicates the plumbing and even then it is not factually true. Theres a history of problems and failures associated with that assumption all of which can be avoided by using a valve with a PB outlet.

As you can see from the parts diagram the BT605 is the first rather than last device in the BX circuit.

Is this the diagram I would go off of then?
It's a good parts diagram.
Proper plumbing can be connected using the WSM's for both model tractors.

Look at the envelope top right of your screen. ;)

Right off, all the Kubota backhoes that I remember have 3 hoses.
I don’t doubt that but I recall most complaints about backhoes being removed and then having hydraulics problems. The resolution is to connect the TWO hoses to complete the hydraulic loop. I have never seen a reference to the TANK line in relationship to the backhoe. Also, I recall having been schooled that backhoe valves didn’t require the tank line for reasons I stated in post #24.

Now I will just return to my previous assumptions that most valves require the PB port except for the third function valve.

BUT now the backhoe valve has three hoses to disconnect but only two must be looped. How does Kubota control that since there are only male ends and female ends to put on the hoses.

The oil IN at the backhoe valve and power beyond need to be connected together. The oil return to sump or drain coupler is left, just put the rubber dust cover on it.

At a minimum the control valves used on the BH6x, BH7x, and BH9x models do not have a PB outlet.

They have a pressure IN and a tank OUT port. Consequently the hoe must be plumbed as the next to last valve in the neutral (PB) circuit and the tank return is connected to the 3pt inlet. That return must NEVER be used for high pressure carry over.

When the hoe is attached the 3pt control lever must be kept in the FLOAT or NEUTRAL. position to avoid over pressuring the tank port on the hoe. This is a questionable design kludge rife with potential for problems.

Tidbit, the L47 and M62, maybe some others, have 3 hoses but no PB, I think. The 3rd hose is to feed the swing section from a separate pump, so it has 2 P's.

I understand that but am wanting to know how the person taking the backhoe off the tractor is prevented from connecting the incorrect hoses together.

For example there will be two hoses with female ends and one with a male end left on the tractor when the backhoe is removed. So only one of the two female ends is connected to the male end. How does the person know which female end to cap and which one to plug in? Are there sticker nameplates, color codes, length limits on hoses?
