Brake, turn and running lights not working on one side of ROPS

Hi. All of the lights on one side of the rops on my stv36 have stopped working. The other side is fine. What can I test and check please?

Sounds liks a simple open circuit fault in one side of the wiring harness. Consult the wiring diagram and trace power in that side of the circuit with a test lamp.

On my L2501, there is a connector for the turn signal directly under it, in the fender area.

If you have a similar setup, just poke your head under and look to see if it got disconnected.

If not, do as @TheOldHokie suggested.

I found a 4 wire cable coming out the bottom of the ROPS. Each wire has an individual connector. After disconnecting them I can see the ground connection and 12v levels are ok on the harness side. But continuity testing all four wires between the connectors and light unit gives open circuit for all four. So looks like the cable inside the ROPS is damaged. Seems odd that all 4 wires are broken though.

Thanks, yes, although I’ve been using a multimeter instead to check voltages and continuity.

use a test light for this purpose like Dan stated. A multimeter does not load the circuit and you can see acceptable voltage but not see voltage drop while under a load. If all lamp functions are out the logical place to look is the ground circuit. But make sure you check your bulb(s) as well. It wouldn't be the first time multiple elements were bad at the same time.

Mystery solved. Removed the bracket at the top where the lights connect to the roll bar and found a connector that was disconnected! Thanks again for your help.
