Hi All,

I am new here. So long story short I am not dissatisfied with my 1025R - the dealer support however has not been what i was expecting. Long story short - I dropped off my tractor and was told all the parts are there and ready to be installed. It turns out a few of the parts are on backorder and have been. So i called a dealer that was in my state but 6 hrs away and was able to order one of the parts and overnighted it. I was thinking about it and was just wondering why I had to do all that and why the dealer themselves couldn't source it from another dealer. I called another dealer for another part they had in stock and they told me they only do dealer to dealer transfers/sales on parts. I got to a point where if parts were going to be this much of a hassle to get it would be better to get out of this thing before I get too deep into it. Priced out a BX23S and I will be loosing money - but I felt like the BX23s was a bit better built machine over all the things i don't like about it is the 3pt lever (doesn't have the ability to a preset position) - the mower deck is going to be a pain - the hydrostatic cooler fan I am not a big fan of as well. Orange is also not my favorite color (but i'd rather get work done than the color of the machine). I don't think you can put a price tag on good support.

Before I make a final decision I was curious what you all have seen in terms of parts availability - i realize dealership experiences can and will vary with any brand.

My grandson runs a site prep/landscaping business and is completely fed up with Mother Deere. Working on trading his Deere excavator for a Kubota.

I got there years ago, but I thought it was just my local yuppie/horsey dealer. Apparently not.

My biggest concern would be going smaller. You might look at a B2601 instead. I don't have a BX and haven't needed any parts.

I cannot imagine downgrading from a 1025R to a BX anything.

For starters, the 1025 has proper position control whereas the BX tractors have a quarter inching valve. You will not like the quarter inching valve.

Lack of position control is an absolute show stopper for me.

I'll deal with that so long as it means I don't have to wait an unknown ETA on parts... or be told multiple times by dealers that they don't sell to general public. This isn't so much as me not liking the 1025R and more about not liking the my experience with parts and trying to get them i.e. dealer support.

I dont know what you need but Messick's or Colemans on line they might have what you need and they price is just about the same as local,, just a thought
And i would stay away from the B2601,, they aint what they should be

They are both almost identical in size - bx maybe slightly smaller... not really a detriment for my use case (just something I will need to get used to). I went forward with it - traded in my 1025R - waiting on the 3rd function install, bolt on bucket blade and mower deck install and i am set. The 1025R I didn't have any issues with - but the dealer support - absolutely abysmal.

What should they be? :D
Well Jim having one I might have a bit of an inside and remember this is just MHO.
1 They need to be about 6 inches wider on the rear end that way you dont need spacers, I put 2 inch spacers, it helped but not enough.

2 The kitchen is cramped if you are old, fat and crippled up like me hard to get on and off.
The seat does not go back far enough and the control for the FEL is very easy bumped. And the floor mat will come loose and trip you up,, dont ask. And the tram pedal leaves a lot to be desired

3 With out a counter weight doing anything with the FEL will pucker you up, its not heavy enough even with filled tires. Working on hills is not a pleasant thing on the B. It sits to high and,,, feels tippy.

Again this is part of my gripes about the B other people have them and think they are the cats ass, me I would not buy another one. Somebody said the B 2601 is a BX with a lift kit and I agree after using mine. If you are on soft rolling land it would be ok but not here in the coal country hills.
Dont get me wrong it is a capable little tractor if you use it in that notch. Have your dealer bring one out to play with for a weekend before you buy ,dont be dazzled by the pretty orange paint, like I was, knowing what I know now I should have taken the next step up.
OH and my old BX is my go to beast. So spend your money wisely and make sure it will do what you want/need it to do,.

I don't think you are going to find a big difference. There are plenty of horror stories here about bad orange dealer experiences.

I certainly would not trade in a machine because it takes a while to get parts. IMHO, they all eventually need parts of some sort, and they all arrive on the same truck. I,ve owned Kubota tractors for the last 10 years, and have never needed anything but oil and filters from the dealer, and have several of each on the shelf, waiting to be used up when required. Now if you think you bought the wrong tractor in the first place, and would like something different, that is a totally different kettle of fish to deal with.

My local Kubota dealer has been great. I inquired with some local folks and they recommended them. There are bad dealers with whatever brand you go with it seems like. In this case I am more about buying the dealer support. JD has a good machine - but my experience in terms of support and communication has been very lacking.

It's not so much about not having the parts - its about being told everything came in - drop off your tractor and then come to find out alot of parts are missing (some on backorder) I had to do digging myself and find a part bought it and overnight'd it (which I am selling now). The wrong tractor perhaps - after using my 1025r I found that i like the pedal setup on the Kubota better. I do like some things about the deere better. My local kubota dealer actually had inventory of everything I needed so I told them i wanted a 3rd function from the get go, cutting blade. The only thing they didn't have that I wanted was a thumb for the backhoe. They recommended i look at bxpanded for some of the stuff they had and told me outfront that it was going to be about a month before they can get a thumb. My local Kubota dealer stocks alot more for the smaller tractors - the deere dealer seem'd to be alot more tailored for 4 and 5 series tractors on up. Hopefully that makes sense.

On the flipside I didn't see a whole lot of bigger machines (other than skid steers/ctl and a few ctls) at my local Kubota dealer.

JD here, one dealer for 1,000 miles, James River. Sales is good, parts is great (overnight between store so pretty much everything is in stock, someplace). Service leaves something to be desired, they try but (I guess) a mechanic is not what they used to be, now its' read a manual and that is it, zero problem solving.
But ZERO price budging, they have the captive market. This is true for the customers that spend a million a year. No budging.
My Kubota dealer was great. But they sold out to a big chain and it has waned.
