Anybody got a use for this? The dial is US, one revolution is 0.100". But the scale is metric.
I have a HF digital caliper, but I don't like leaving the battery in things I don't use often, so grabbing a quick measurement involves installing and then removing the battery.
I finally decided to order a $20 mechanical caliper from eBay. When it came today, I quickly noticed the metric scale and 0.001" on the dial. I closed it to 10 mm and the pointer was on 0, so I first thought it was metric. OK, I thought, having a metric caliper with a mislabeled dial wouldn't be too bad, I'll just order a US one. But a little more fiddling revealed the dial is right, but the scale is wrong. So, I've messaged the seller to see if he wants it returned.
