Filter Prices

Pretty sure I know the answer to this, but thought I'd check.

I'm seeing air filter and cabin filter prices for my B2650 on Amazon in the $20 range. Waiting on a call-back from my local Kubota dealer, but I suspect their prices will be several multiples of that.

Since There Ain't No Such Thing As A Free Lunch, I'm guessing the Amazon filters are ripoffs from The Land Of Almost Right and it would be foolish to depend on them actually working.

I've bought cabin filters on Amazon and they have been fine. I would not buy one of those knockoff air filters, however. To me it ain't worth the risk on something that important.

I go to wixfilters.com and cross the Kubota number to find a Wix number. Because most of the local parts stores don't sell Wix filters anymore, I order from RockAuto.

Somewhat to my surprise, last time I went filter shopping "genuine" Kubota-branded filters were cheaper than Wix through NAPA.

The bad news is, the nearest Kubota dealer currently is 60+ miles away. The good news is, a competitor is building a new branch dealership about 19 miles away. Should be open by Fall.

With the ability the Chinese have for copying I don't trust many things available on Amazon, and that includes important components like filters. They even copy the boxes items go in so well you can't hardly tell the difference. Tread carefully.

I didn't buy a air filter, as it had a new one in it (IIRC it's actually two, an inner and outer)

I’d be good with a “Chi-Com” cabin air filter to save a few bucks, but not a engine filter. (air-oil nor hyd)……….Too much expensive stuff depends on those filters.


But alas,….I am a hypocrite.

My wifes van has been using Wally World air/oil filters and oil for the last 250,000 miles

I've had no problems with my "Amazon, identical looking to Kubota, made in China" cabin air filters. It's only a cabin filter, not the same as letting dust get sucked into the engine from an "Amazon, identical looking to Kubota, made in China" Engine air filter. I won't go for the "Amazon, identical looking to Kubota, made in China" engine air filter.

They are utterly pointless.

I've told this before. I bought a glow controller clone on eBay. As expected, the package indicated it was made in China. But molded in the plastic case was 'Made in Japan'. The only visual difference is it looks better than the original, and it's still working.

But I buy my filters from a Kubota dealer. Fortunately, I have access to 2 good ones.

You won't find Wix at Napa anymore. Unless there is some old stock left over. That is why I had to order from Rock Auto, as no one nearby carries them. For my tractor, it was nearly $50 cheaper for each inner/outer filter.

As for everyone else commenting, I would run a cheap cabin air filter. Something is better than nothing. @Trash Panda please don't remove it. Especially if you have heat or A/C. I'd buy a $2 filter that needs changed weekly before having to dig into an evaporator/heater core to clean or replace.

That's how I played it: Genuine Kubota air filter ($39 with my military discount) and an Amazon clone cabin filter, mostly because the dealer didn't have any in stock.

I'm not home now, so can't take pictures ... However I'd be highly surprised to see that ALL Official Kubota brand filters (or parts) are made in Japan ...

I do know that some of my OEM brand/sourced filters (and parts) for both my Massey Ferguson and John Deere are made all over the world, including china!

I still use OEM though!

Until your AC and Heater quit working because they are plugged up with dirt, pollen, and anything else that floats in the air. The only thing pointless about them is removing them and continuing to use the air system in the tractor.

Zero cabin air filters, zero issues, and they all blow a little harder without a cabin air filter than with. All of the above spend their entire lives bouncing down a dusty ROW.

Everyone makes their own choices.

But Cabin filters certainly are NOT pointless.

I am in rock quarries every day. when given the choice to inhale silica dust or use the cabin filter... It's a no brainer. One look at a used filter is all the evidence I need.
