KH31 excavator not spinning fully.

I don't know if there's a section for excavators but I have an old KH31 with a new fault. Last time I used it about a month back no problem. Today I went to skew it right and it did 1/4 turn and stopped. I tried it left, it got to almost the sale point and wouldn't go any more.
Suspecting a rock or similar got wedged up there I had a good look, nothing. I lifted the tread plate, nothing to see there either. I feels just like its coming up against something solid. Any ideas please??

maybe broke a tooth ? Had that happen with a forklift bull gear setup. busted tooth in between two good teeth...seems grease is kinda sticky ! Did NOT see the sliver of busted tooth( yeah, it was hidden in the grease !!!

Could be an issue with the swing brake. When the controls are in neutral
the brake is on preventing the house from rotating when you input a rotation command with the control the swing brake releases.

Hi, thanks for your reply. I am fearing the broken tooth on the ring gear, it would explain where it stops in both directions. I will need to find out how to strip it out, it looks like a fair bit of work. However that's a job for later!!

Hi, Thanks for this info, sadly my old thing is way too old for joystick controls and the "lock" lever has never worked.
