So I've been looking to buy a used cabbed tractor. I only have 10 acres so don't need anything too large, however we have horses so my main use is moving 1500+ large bales. I've been using a 1981 Ford 4100 (52hp) tractor for the last 8 years or so which has worked well. However I'd like a cab and the ability to lift bales with the front to load/unload trailers and stack the bales, and the Ford's front end is just not built for that type of weight. It seems I could get down into the upper 40 hp models and be able to left the bales but it's pushing what those tractors are rated for so started looking at 50-60hp models.
Since I don't have a ton of work I've tried setting my budget accordingly, meaning I'm looking for something used as there is no ROI. I've been searching Facebook marketplace regularly and recently came across one of interest. It's a L6060, seems well priced and looks like it's in pretty good shape, although that's based on just internet searches and no real experience.
Which brings me to my questions... what is an appropriate price... and what do I need to check to avoid buying a money pit?
Edit: forgot to add it is a 2016 with 400 hours.
