What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

I am afraid you cannot use the colour of a coolant any more for identification. Those times are long gone.
actually, color is most definitely used today as a quick identifier for types of coolant.

that's not to say everything yellow is interchangeable with everything yellow. however, engine manufacturers that recommend a specific type that is typically yellow, MOST compatible types will also be yellow.

at the end of a 37yr career from heavy junk mechanic to managing a fleet of 9600 pieces of equipment, 27 maintenance and repair facilities and hundreds of personnel, I can assure you that color is still a viable quick aid to identifying antifreeze and helps prevent or at least minimizes non-compatible mixups.

lots of charts out there, here's a couple from prominent manufacturers Peak, Prestone, and Zerex for reference. I won't bore everyone with the differences between IAT, OAT, HOAT, etc., y'all can dive into that on yer own if interested. ;)

good luck! šŸ»

Mowed 10 acres with the L5460 and FDR2584 and saw this beast coming. It owed by Indian River Farms, they have two of these tractors and potato planters. Excuse the reved up Kubota. Didn't have time to drop the throttle. Enjoy

I gave the BX and the JD430 their spring baths with the power washer. The BX gets pretty dusty from mowing in the summer, and the JD gets dirty from blowing snow, sod and gravel in the winter.

Removed the loader and changed the oil. I don’t have a flat spot on my property so it was rough getting it back on. I forgot to put blocks of wood under the loader kickstands so that made it worse LOL. accidentally loosened one of the hydraulic soft lines and sprung a leak when trying to hook it back up. I really need to figure out how to do it without removing loader or without it sitting 10 ft up. Oil change went super smooth though. Oil appeared clean no flakes or sparkles just black diesel. Had 48 additional hours since my last change two years ago and I expect I’ll be putting around an additional 30-40 depending on the heat before the new year. IMG_5438.jpeg

If you don’t want to remove it, raise it enough to be out of the way and use a cylinder mechanical stop like this:

If you have any fabrication skills, not very hard to make. If you have more money than time and fabrication skills, not too hard to buy.
Awesome thank you! I’ve never seen that before. I’ll have to look into it and see if it’s something I could make w/o welding

We continue to clean out the basement. We have removed two 20 yard dumpsters worth of stuff and could use another one. It is amazing to me the amount of stuff my grandparents kept.

Please make sure that boiler with the wood handles isn't made of copper before trashing it. When I was a kid the volunteer fire company cooked up hage batches of the best chicken corn soup using several of them. They would stir them for hours with what looked like a right angle boat oar.

A couple of pieces of wood fashioned in a "L" and zip ties in place, or just rest the loader up on something solid, pickup bed, tote ...

But to be truthful, I've never known you need to remove the loader to change the oil/filter ...

pulling out 4x4 fence posts today to redo one of my pastures wuth 6inch round treated posts. they were put in by previous property owner but being square they were loose or rotted in half. i just tilled this pasture and planted but its been super dry and its struggling to grow. the bh92 i bought as a toy has been one of my most used and indespensible tools.

went back with the pallet forks and just scooped them all up

Yeah that’s a great idea! It looked like something I could build with the wood I have laying around.

and I think you are right - I just want to make it easier so I have less of a chance of screwing it up. I just was messing with the oil filter with the loader on the ground. It’s not so bad as my dealer described to me back when I bought my tractor. They made it sound like I had to remove it to access everything so I never questioned it. I’m relatively new to working on anything bigger than a riding mower compared to most on the forum.

Lots of tools, some old oil lamps, lots of old dishes, bunches of old family photos. Couple of firearms that we didn't know grandpa had.

All the clothes and furniture had been ruined by the mice.

I did find a satchel full of letters the 1920-1940 in German. I want to see if I can find someone translate them for me. There was also a bunch of German bear coasters also

That is interesting. I don't know if you are on any genealogy forums, but that is where I found a person to translate a German Baptism document that I found that belonged to my wife's great grandmother.
