You cant see the forest for the trees.

Here are two different Kubota/Landpride instructions for 380-155s - Stabdard L. Same kit but one set of instructions hooks the valve up correctly (P->T) and the other hooks it up backwards (T->P). This has been a known error disccussed here for years. And its not the only place where they have done this.

I understand the difference in connections, but why don't you tell us all why 10 years of operating an erroneously installed 3rd function on four tractors with zero issues is a disaster waiting to happen.

This reminds me of your criticism of the single acting cylinders on my Land Pride RC3712, apparently another disaster waiting to happen that has yet to materialize. 😂

I never saud any of this is a disaster waiting to happen.

Those valves will tolerate being hooked up backwards but it is WRONG!. Its a mistake in the Labdpride instructions that Kubota fixed.

Putting the 3rd function vakve ahead of the loader also works fine but it changes the way the two valves interact and some people may like one better than the other. If you want to be hekpful quit beating the Kubota drum and bashing perfectly fine third party alternatives. Explain the differences in the two schemes.

Added in edit:
This set of instructions for the MX6000 CAB model (380-330A) has a revision date of 4/2/26.

I "beat the Kubota drum" because of the incredibly positive experience I've had with four Kubota tractors and a Kubota generator, factory Kubota options and numerous Land Pride/Kubota implements. I prefer OE accessories/options if availalbe because they work and work well for me.

I updated the schematics for clarity re oil flow. Members here can think about what implements they run on their 3rd function and the meaningful differences if any in how the two approaches impact the user.

I use 3rd functions to run an hydraulic angle snow blade on the MX all winter long, and a grapple and HD25 PHD on the MX and M in nicer months without any functional problems either with implements or loaders.

Instructions for the 380-331a kit from Land Pride/Kubota.

Well guys, the diagrams were helpful, im much further ahead! My mechanic doesnt like the mounting situation by the loader and suggested drilling s new hole to mount it an inch lower. But its coming together. Hind sight being what it is, the Land Pride would have been easier for my mechanic. I have the W.R Long kit on my B7800 and didnt have hesitation going back to them.

@fullborefire, I hope you got it all figured out. One of the reasons why I enjoy this forum so much is that many threads get me to look at things that I typically take for granted and I end up learning because of this. This thread got me learning about the MX oil supply, loader valve and 3rd function valve, but also the M system too.

Here's a schematic of how the loader valve and 3rd function valve are set up on my M6060. I have the M7992 Land Pride/Kubota/Great Plains kit and it's installed according to the instructions in the LA1154 installation manual. It's another example of the 3rd function valve being installed between the hydraulic pump and the loader valve rather than downstream of it.

There are some differences between it and the MX installation since there's no front hydraulic block and the 3rd function valve has an extra port to send oil back to the transmission case.

What is the purpose of three hoses?

Is it just an upstream pressure relief?

If it is PB what is the oil flow path when the valve is shifted? Normally it woul be P->Implement->T blocking all loader functions.

Here's the connection diagram in the L1154 installation manual. There's a pressure relief valve in the 3-point hitch control valve.

I have read the installation manual. The connection diagram tells us nothing about flow path.

I will go out on a limb and guess the 3 hose subplate is some sort of power beyond circuit and the valve blocks when shifted.

Without schematics of the loader valve and 3rd function valves it's hard to be sure, but I can simultaneously raise/lower the loader and tilt the grapple while opening/closing the lid if that helps. 😂

I think you will find there's an inlet relief valve in both the 3rd function and loader valves.

Since the tractor side relief is in the cylinder cover the third function is coming straight off the pump. The 3rd function subplate has an inlet pressure relief valve and the tank port is used to dump inlet over pressure.

That analysis is based on a quuck study of the tractor side and 3rd function valve parts pages

I show relief valves in the 3rd function and loader valves in my schematic above.
