Since I made this post we have had intermittent issues with starting this unit. Each time I think I have it narrowed down to a specific wire or component it kicks me again. I have replaced the ignition switch, the neutral switch and relay. I have checked the circuit wires for continuity, and I can get it to start normal. Everyone is happy it is back to normal and then about halfway through the day it won't start via the key anymore. I end up having to use a jumper wire to start it so that workers can bring it back to the shop. My guess (for what that's worth) is that one or more components are getting too warm and causing it to not start as normal.?!!!

I appreciate any info or ideas. It seems like a pretty straightforward circuit and I'm not sure how it keeps giving me this issue, especially since I have replaced all those given components.

Testing wire integrity with a test light is MUCH better than a resistance test. It can also help you locate a broken wire or intermittent connection by connecting the test light and then wiggling the harness while watching the light.

You may want to look at adding a relay into the solenoid firing circuit like this. It will overcome a lot of problems since it requires little power to close the real power circuit that is more directly from the battery positive terminal.

If the 900 is like my X2 it already has a starter relay under the seat, and there is also only one safety switch in the circuit. That is a great mod for tractors and mowers with multiple safety switches causing voltage drop. I have done that to a BX and a ZD.
