I've still got a box. Bought 3 pair at the same time. I've had to many snatched off my head running under trees while shredding. Some have survived and some have not.

I’m always surprised how tough they are and how long the battery lasts. I charge them like 3 times a year at most, seems to sit on “medium” battery for 50 hours.

Trimmed more dead branches off the trees around the houses and used the grapple to take several loads to the brush piles. Everything was within reach of the pole saw today. IMG_8799.jpeg

They just don't make hoses to last anymore, you only got 28 years out of them. What happen to the days when they made products to last. :p
I agree. My 8N was getting hard to shift. I adjusted the clutch thinking that would do it and it did for a week or so. I found that the problem came back and expected to have to split the tractor for a clutch. Until I found that 76 yr old linkage was cracked and changing things. I struggled to get it off and closed it up and tried welding. it seemed to be weldable.
In the meantime I found they can still be bought made in India.
So I have one as my back up part and for about $90 it worth having.

Getting the 5/16" solid rivet pin out was the hard part. I wound up grinding the one left side off and welding a nut on so I could work it loose. No way to get a punch on it.

I know it isn't ORANGE but just thought it was worth sharing as I was getting ready to split it before finding it was linkage on the outside.

Used the high priced wheelbarrow today. I moved a couple of rototillers out of the barn to make room for a new old rototiller. The Cub Cadet runs OK, but has crazy engine vibration. The gas tank fell off and was relocated. The Honda needs some carb work.
The new old one is a 1979 Troy Built Horse.

Now that spring has arrived in rain soaked Wales I've been getting busy mowing:
IMG_0679.JPG
Loads of lovely grass clippings for making compost:
IMG_0609.JPG
The great thing about grass clippings is they heat up and kill the weeds and seeds, so I'm looking forward to nice clean compost in due course. Also, I've been mulching round trees:
IMG_0647.JPG
That's a walnut that's just got settled in and its starting to put on some growth. Also a hedge that was sulking has been mulched:
IMG_0648.JPG
That'll help retain some moisture, suppress grass growth and add organic matter, so the little beech plants should enjoy it when they come into leaf. I'm enjoying being able to move nutrients around like this. I'm in the Cambrian mountains and the topsoil is very meagre on most parts of my property, on top of hard-packed glacial clay which roots find it very hard to penetrate. So adding organic matter from the top seems like the best way to improve matters.

They are great tires for winter and snow conditions. But be prepared for sticker shock, for my 4060 they were 8k cdn.
Well, never mind I will keep on going with my R1s LOL. I took a look at their website it looks like those tires can be used year round. Just would be nice for a less aggressive tire. Next tractor or tires I’ll be going r14s for sure. I don’t see myself wearing out the tires though, I think they will rot and crack before I get to that point.

I have a Horse in my barn I need to pull out. The old cast-iron engine is tired and has no power for tilling. I have a predator engine to re-power it with quickly so I can get it back in work duty.

I have a pair of Horses in the shed. They haven’t been run since my father quit using them 5 or 6 years ago. I suppose I really should find them a better home where they’d be appreciated.

N.Y,
Pulled a giant stump out. Used 4 snatch blocks and the 5000 pound winch to give it super power 😲.

N.Y,
Did you use your little Chinese excavator to dig around the stump and cut through the roots?
Sure did last fall but couldn't move it with the 8 ft root ball and drought hard soil. Finally yanked it out today and started filling the hole in DJI_20250918140126_0136_D.JPG

100 lbs of tannerite would have popped that stump out real quick. Just not sure where it would have landed.

What are your thoughts on that little ex? They pop up at the auctions all the time. My brother and I have considered going in on one. Understandably, it's not a full-fledged, diesel-powered ex, but for the limited use it would get, I have to imagine it would be just as capable, if not more so, than a backhoe on the 2650. Plus, then I have the tractor free.

My little B couldn't stand this (4000lb) brick column up that had been knocked over, but, by golly, it'll help level it up! (-; 20260507_082534.jpg

My recommendation is don't buy a cheap auction machine. Most of them have low quality components and zero support. You get what you pay for. I went with the Huayee SHY (dealership model only) because it has top end components with a real Kubota engine from Japan and dealer support with a 3 year parts warranty (same as the KubotaI priced that was over twice the cost out the door). I have a direct number to their top mechanic in the US and they have a inventory of replacement parts that ship out overnight if there's a problem. He answers all the time for any questions. It was $20k delivered with the attachment set and a wonderful machine that has had zero problems in the first 50 hours so far. Rippa was another machine I considered but saw poor support and many problems on the new models. To me a backhoe isn't worth having 75% of the time so that's why I didn't get one with the new Kioti and bought this instead. I can dig about 90 inches deep max with mine which seems to be the limit for 2 ton machines.

That forward/reverse handle is something else! The 7hp kohler is a damn good engine too.
This place has mostly all the parts you may need.
And clean cutter tines are very good and cheap!
Shoot me a PM with serial, I can date it and I have parts breakdowns, manuals.
