Separation and palletization complete! :giggle: Bring on the snow!

I added a couple more hose markers, moved some hose markers around to reflect where the hoses are actually going, got the blower off, coupler caps in (I despise having caps hanging and getting dirty so I cut off the lanyards), and PTO output shaft cover on.

Next up is to see if I can actually run the Del Morino flail on the QH10.

Back on the tractor again to mow. It's growing like crazy and clippings are being deposited faster than they're going away.
Wow! What a gorgeous lawn. You could host the US grass court tennis championships ... the other Wimbledon. 😂

Thank you , but the picture is deceiving. When you're "up close and personal" (riding over it on the 'Bota) clippings and thin spots can be seen.

My over sized garden tractor (aka 1880) moved dirt today to fill a trailer. Saved my old back from shoveling it. Earned its keep!

Exactly what I wanted to do on a Tuesday night.

@McMXi Teejet is the standard of spray equipment. You’ll like that in cab control for sure.

I ordered the kit from Sprayer Depot and they shipped it today. Should be here on Monday so I'm already planning the installation of the control box and have read through the owner's manual a couple of times. The pressure gauge is mechanical so a line comes off the manifold and into the cab. There's a connection along the pressure line and TeeJet wisely suggests having the connection outside the cab! 😂

Yesterday, chipped the dead tree I pushed over a few days ago and grappled a short piece of trunk too big to chip off to the useless log pile. Had kind of hoped pushing it out I could skip grinding the stump, but there were a couple of big roots sticking up too high to not grind them out, so did that as well. In probably 150+ hours over the past few years on the WC68 chipper, I’ve busted one shear bolt. Somehow managed to blow through two yesterday. That left me with exactly zero. Fortunately the second one sheared on the last limb, so that one went to the permanent brush pile to be dealt with later. Chipper takes a M8 8.8 standard bolt and matching nylock nut for the shear bolt. Found the bolts at Lowe’s but no nylock nuts. Ace had the nuts but no M8 8.8 bolts long enough. Visited both today and now have a half dozen shear bolts.

When I first got this personnel basket a couple months ago wife didn’t complain, but did say she had no idea what use it would be. Main reason I got it was for changing a few outside light bulbs and doing some pruning on ground too sloped for ladders and a few areas where reaching over bushes or similar restrictions is necessary. So far, we’ve washed the windows on the back of the house we didn’t have any way to reach previously (wife’s idea) and today washed the gutters on the front of the house and some facia we couldn’t reach before. (Wife’s idea again.) Of course it’s flat on the concrete driveway, but about 3/4 of the front of the house is not ladder friendly. I’m pretty good with this deal running the tractor while she does the work. 🙂 IMG_8638.jpeg IMG_8642.jpeg
Also noticed something leaking very slowly in the area of the rear remotes. After yesterday’s chipping and stump grinding in our drought dry conditions, there’s so much dust coating the back of the tractor it’s near impossible to tell exactly where it’s coming from so I checked all fittings in the general area, unplugged quick connects and reconnected, and cleaned up the area where it leaked in the bay where its parked. Need to wash the whole tractor anyway, but if today’s general messing with the rear remote connections didn’t fix it, I’ll get some talcum powder after it once it’s clean and dry.

What's up with the hose heading to the 3rd-function. It looks kinked but might be a tropical illusion as we used to say in Hawaii.
It isn’t kinked. I’m assuming you’re looking at the place in the first photo near the valve where it looks kind of wrinkled. If yes, there are a couple things going on, neither of which are functional, but both of which are kind of irritating to me. If it’s somewhere else, it’s an illusion of the camera.

The wrinkled look is because there’s a thin strip of plastic about the thickness of Saran Wrap, but somewhat stiffer, that covers the printing on the hose. It’s delaminating from the hose where it bends. Maybe I should pull it off to clean it up, but it’s not a functional issue and that big loop of hose looks like crap to me anyway so some wrinkly plastic wrap isn’t making it any worse IMO.

The other thing is the dealer installed the third function when I bought the tractor new. Being a dealer, I would think they’d have bins of various hydraulic fittings in inventory in their shop. I can only assume the day they installed my third function they went to the elbow bin and it was empty so they thought, “eff it, we’ll just make the hoses longer and have a couple great big loops sticking up over the valve.” At the time, I was so giddy to have a modern 4WD totally functional tractor with a loader and enough power to do what I needed, I wasn’t concerned with a loopy hose. (I think I’ve posted a few pics in the past of the tractor the L replaced, but if you don’t recall seeing it I can post a couple pics and I’m confident my overlooking an aesthetic imperfection will make sense.)

I have intermittently considered cleaning that third function up with elbows to minimize those loops, sleeves for the hoses, and at least one more tie in the middle of the hose run. Being it hasn’t been a functional issue, and it would cost something (albeit not much) to modify, it’s just been a very low priority. Maybe someday.

N.Y,
Finally dry enough to roll
20260422_143253.jpg
Had to fix the roller first. Last year the weld joint between the 1 inch shaft and drum rotted out so had to remove the outer cap and join the 18 gauge drum back to the 1 inch shaft with a mess of weld beads to fill in the missing metal. Luckily the cover hides the mess that I coated with flex seal to be safe before putting the cap back on. What a piece of garbage this roller is

I brought my tractor to the shop for a spring oil and filter change. Also power washed it and a quick vacuum and blow out with shop Air.
This is coming home tonight. IMG_20260422_190906858_HDR.jpg

Teaching my buddy some tractor basics and getting free help with chores. Win win.
That's a NICE rock! :giggle:

Worked on getting the mowing completed before the predicted rain on Friday. Everything went fairly well, till the error code showed up.

20260422_181840.jpg

The tractor had just finished a regen. Temp guage was fine. Stopped mowing and searched on the old Google to see what I should do.

According to the AI, common error after regen due to the EGR getting to hot. Let it idle for a few minutes, shut it off, blew out the radiator to make sure it was good and clean.

Started it back up and code was gone and finished mowing. I like it when errors are easy to make go away.

Katy showed out. We have been working to get as much debris to the road as possible, since the final pickup date is almost here. Katy's backhoe, the tree puller and grapple have paid for themselves.
