They are working on developing miniature nuclear plants right now for this application.
Now this is an ingenious idea (y) .

So we will spread our nuclear waste, radiating for 100000 to 200000 years and longer, to the Moon and Mars as well.

The idea is actually not new, somebody had it in the 50s already. In this context I recommend you read this: Link Wikipedia SL-1. Particularly interesting I found the chapter "Cleanup" including disposal of the bodies.

Good luck with your nuclear. ;)

p.s.: I believed in nuclear about 40 years ago as well, but I learned.
p.p.s: anything involving AI (artificial stupidity) is doomed.

Did you see or read where I criticized those programs…? or are you having a mis-fire….

My opinion was/is about the Artemis/Moon/Mars manned / joy-ride / mission waste-of-resources.
Do you understand the use of the special character that terminated the sentence in post #33 and used again here for dramatic effect?

I unwillingly was until i got informed.
I knew a co-worker in Montana who also got informed about refusing to pay taxes. He spent 4 years in club Fed.

He didn't do it right. There is nothing illegal that I do. I just live differently.

Let’s avoid letting this degrade to insults or personal attacks, if you don’t mind. Re-read my post #35 completely, and you’ll note the second sentence addressed the matter fully.

Until property taxes are eliminated, I hope YOU enjoy the "benefits" of the money that is stolen from me.
There are countries in the third world where there are no taxes. Nirvana for anti-taxers. For the rest of us, we pay taxes and have a first world standard of living supported by our taxes.

a first world standard of living supported by a printing press.
This is about to end. Are you ready for it.
I’m not a conspiracy theorist or chicken little type of guy. I don’t have a bunker either. 😉

I bet you still believe we are the we are the richest country in the world.
Why is that even relevant? There are several small countries that are billionaire retreats. You can hide in a bunker and fear the future, but I’m not betting against the United States.

Has anyone been recalling how much Hydrogen and Oxygen we need to Get Off the planet ..Just to get to the Moon…?? How much More will be required to get off the Moon to Mars..?? WHERE is that H and O going to come from…? Huh?

Then…IF…we get to Mars….. HOW are we going to GET BACK..???
And Exactly WHAT do we hope to Achieve by all this…?? Looking for another place to Live after we finish Poisoning THIS PLACE?

I suggest it’d be a lot smarter to discover ways to STOP Killing Earth.

(Not to mention that we know a Lot More about Moon and Mars than we do about the bottom of Our Own Oceans and the resources available down there!
It's a LOT easier to go to Mars than it is to the 'bottom of the ocean' ! Biggest obstacle is the PRESSURE down there, as we all saw a few years back when that private sub imploded.

As for the H and O, you simplyinsert electrodes into a jar of water(H2O ) and get all the Hs and Os from it. FYI,it's cost MORE in input energy than you get out of it....

The reason you can post your comment IS the result of the 'space race'.
No argument from me on the technological advancements made from the space program. My complaint is about the ”necessity” for humans to ride in long journeys beyond earth orbit. The huge expenditure to life-support humans that are mostly mere occupants and television gags is a huge and dangerous waste.
Example: The reason stated for this latest mission was to “test” the life-support systems and to repetitiously exercise onboard systems.
Without humans… the majority of that mission was unnecessary….and the money could have been better spent developing the technology to accomplish the mission without humans. THOSE technology advancements would better benefit us here on earth than watch joy-riders on TV keep a microphone “floating” in front of the camera.
IMO

(Landing, collecting samples, conducting experiments using robotics has already been well-done by NASA on Mars and by the Chinese agency on the So. Pole of the moon. Adding living human passengers doesn’t make the “juice worth the squeeze”.)

It is NOT a “lot easier” to go to Mars than to the bottom of the ocean.
WE’VE ALREADY BEEN to the bottom of the ocean Hundreds of Times…and so have the Russians.
That activity also does not require Huge Amounts of Energy to get Back! …the energy folks seem to believe is a simple mater of sticking electrodes in a glass of water.

As for the Titan-loss and the complexity of deep-diving the oceans: It was old knowledge how to get down to the Titanic without imploding: Don’t use fragile composites and gaming-controllers to do real work down there. How do you think the Many-other dives down there to film the wreck was so successful..? Ans: Don’t use paper-mache’ vehicles. Doh.

To bring the subject back to what the OP posted about: This is the same organization that put a two billion dollar telescope in orbit with an out of focus lens to search for intelligent life. Comedian Gallagher: “We know it ain’t pointing down”. 🤣
