1st Yr. Apprentice? 2nd Yr.?

Hey there, Mr. K here -

I have received a few questions regarding what the "1st Yr. Apprentice or 2nd Yr. Apprentice" titles mean underneath everyone's name here on the forums. I figure an explanation is in order. They are just a way of gauging how many posts each person has contributed to the community. Take our martial arts instructor from Durham Ontario for example:

This means that Joe has at least 100 posts (141 to be exact) on the site in the various threads - and I've read many of them, pretty helpful stuff in there! The titles are assigned by the system automatically when you reach that post count. The various rankings look like:

New Member - < 10 posts
1st Yr. Apprentice - 10 to 99 posts
2nd Yr. Apprentice - 100 to 249 posts
3rd Yr. Apprentice - 250 to 499 posts
4th Yr. Apprentice - 500 to 999 posts
Journeyman - 1000 - ???? posts
??????????? - ???? - ???? posts
???????????????? - ???? - ???? posts

Thanks very much for the update and table of titles, it is very helpful.

On another note, I seem to be having a glitch with the forum in that almost everytime I submit a reply the system requires me to log-in again even though I'm already logged in. If I submit a second reply it again requires me to log-in yet another time and then often does not redirect me back to the message board but freezes me on a blank screen. Can you shed and light on this occurrence.

I've had somewhat of a similar issue, but I thought mine was do to inactivity. Sometimes I would log on read and make a few post's and still be what I thought was logged on and then it would asked me to re-log in again. I figured it was due to me not being active and it logged me off after a while for safety reasons in case I forgot or something.

The "Remember Me" has stopped my issues. Well, issues with having to log in at least

I've checked that box and all it seems to do for me is just remember my name. I still have to type in my password, dont get me wrong I'm not going to cry in my soup over a tiny thing suck as having to re-log in every now and then.

Just for a shot, what version of Internet Explorer are you using? You can check this by going up to the top and click on "Help" then go down and click on "About Internet Explorer". The version will pop up.

If you are using Version 8, try this:
To the left of Help is Tools, click on that and go to the bottom and click on "Internet Options". Click the "Privacy" tab then "Advanced". Make sure you are excepting "First party cookies" and Third party cookies", the circles will have dots in them. If not then select those.

Also on the Privacy Tab you will see a slider, make sure it's no higher then Med-High. Just Medium will be ok if you want to try it, but nothing above Med-High.

I use Fire Fox as a browser as I personally don't care for IE. At work I don't have a choice though.

Let me know if that works as I'm thinking it's a browser setting that keeps kicking you out.

As Traildust said, it is cookie setting matter.
"Remember me" and "cookie setting" will solve your problem.
and update the "windows update" too.

I have one wish too...

A lot of member's pictures are too small including profile images... so can't even see what it is.
Sometimes I wish I could zoom in to see those member's picture to learn more and see what they have...

Wildlife Paul uses html mode. so his pictures are so clear and easy to see and learning a lot of stuff from him. but rest of pictures are too small to see the details...

Alright alright I just checked and everything seems to be where it belongs from what yall have told me. I think I need to get somebody to look deep into my computer, I've caught a few bugg's and Ive had to whipe out the entire laptop and start back to the day I opend the shipping box it came in. Everytime I have to reinstall and upload the computer it seems to run a tad slower then the last time, I have 2 spyware programs and a malwarebytes program.

Malwarebytes is a good program, just be sure you make a habit of checking for updates and run the program on a regular basis.
Spyware programs are helpful but can cause problems as well. For instance while Spybot is great at what it does, it also isn't for the average casual pc owner. It is a VERY aggrssive program that can and will make changes to software on your pc that will be extremely conterproductive. Example is some of your favorite stuff will not run anymore. I advise not to use Spybot unless you really know how and what to immunize.

You didn't list an anti virus. This is also of great importance to have as it preforms quite differently than anti spyware. Make sure you have a good anti virus and the same here, keep it updated and make sure to run it's checks. On a hi-speed connection? Keep the firewall up, always, or you will be sorry.

As far as the pc running slower. Try defrag, you would be surprised at what a differance that will make. The hard drive is really no different than a workshop. Never keep the workshop in order and you will never find the screwdriver or socket you just had last week because it's not in the tool box. Hard drives are the same, when it begins to frag, and it doesn't take long, the operating system takes way longer to find all the bits needed to run. If it can even find them.

Defrag: Start-> Programs-> Accessories-> System Tools-> Disk Defragmenter.

Click on the hard drive and then click on Defragment. Depending on the size of the hard drive it may take a long time. Do you see lots of red in there?

You can click on the photos and see what the tractor is and read any info on it. Its optional for a poster to ad a caption and comment on the photo.

I use Firefox as well and to avoid those kinda issues I, for the most part, never use the back buttons. My meathod is always right click on the link and open in new tab. When I'm done I just close the new tab and the original is still there waiting for me. IE can have these same issues backing up with the browser so when I have to use IE at work it's right click open in new window. IE 8 has tabs but not work, they are still using IE 7.

Try the right click new tab method and when you get used to it you will never go back to the navigation buttons.
