I have a problem with my three point hitch in that it does not lift. I had plenty of hydraulic fluid when I started this morning and then it mysteriously lost a couple of gallons. Could not detect a leak so I filled it back up, but it still is not working. HELP!

Check the engine oil level. If the seal on the hydraulic pump fails the fluid can pass into the crankcase and over fill the engine.

Ck your eng oil. On some systems, a leak from the hyd pump will leak into the eng crankcase.
Check the engine oil level. If the seal on the hydraulic pump fails the fluid can pass into the crankcase and over fill the engine.
I had this happen to me 2 years ago. The front seal on the hydro puml failed and FILLED the engine with oil to the point that it was coming out the vent on the top of the engine. I was bush hogging at the time. I shut it down immediately. Miraculously I did not blow the motor and have not suffer any noticeable effect from it. Mile walk back to the house, got another tractor and my wife to steer the broken one and towed it home.

The oil in the crank is fine. Now I am wondering if the 3 point lost it's prime and just needs to be run.

I have no idea where the oil went. I checked the tractor for leaks and could not find any obvious ones. It is entirely possible that in the early morning shade I misread the sightglass, but now that the oil is full the problem still remains. I am baffled.
