Used the L3901DT and grapple to move 6 60" logs to the splitting area. I don't have any pictures, I was trying to beat the flaw in the woods.. It gets really slick when the top 1/2" melts and turns into mud. It went from 23°F at 6:45 to 63°F at 13:00.

Had a little wind yesterday. Not much, but enough to topple an aging out Virginia Pine. It was hanging over one of our trails and we have guests coming tomorrow so needed to get it at least cleaned up enough to clear the trail today despite ground still being covered by snow on top of a sheet of ice.
View attachment 169581
Started with a double line pull with a redirect to finish pulling it off the stump and clear of a smaller tree I preferred not to take out. View attachment 169582
That went pretty well. Let it sit a few minutes to make sure it wasn’t going to move any further on its own. View attachment 169583
Rehooked a single line pull to pull it straight back. That put it on the ground. View attachment 169584 Virginia pines don’t self prune so even healthy ones have a bunch of dead limbs below the crown. Its crown was still green, but the bottom was clearly in bad shape.
View attachment 169585 Grappled a couple trunk sections and a pile of limbs to their respective piles. View attachment 169587
A few minutes with a leaf blower finished off today’s part of the job. Will finish cleanup when the ice is gone and the inevitable mud dries up a bit, View attachment 169588
(y) Nice job, The beauty of a tractor with a winch and grapple !!

Just picked up Katy's new slippers. 10.5 as per the manual vs 8.5's that she had when I bought her. Time to get them on and back to work.

Fixed some hydraulics issue on the snow blower. Removed the skates as the surface over the gravel is really hard. Cleans up much better.

Cleaned driveway, parking area and skidding trails.

Weather was beautiful (-3 C) and I had a great time.

@JonM What purpose do the slats serve?
in case bales fall back running the spear in em they prevent a 800lb bale from ripping the side of the building out. they 2x6x8. each stack is on plastic pallets and there is a little space between rows for air circulation

I finished the end of the driveway snow cleaning.
Figured I would clear the woods road to the log landing. If my firewood pile is not all cut before the ground starts to thaw I will move it off the front lawn to the log landing.
Going to wait to refill the small wood shed because it needs to be moved first.

We put in our water line. Our niece came out and helped, which was greatly appreciated.

We find hidden items like a buried fence.

Glad to have this project off the list.

Greased the BH77 backhoe, and identified how to bypass the (^&^(* Operator Present switch. I'll neither confirm nor deny that I re-wired it.

Started the afternoon off with a battery that did not have enough oomph to turn over the B. So after I wrestled that, we mucked out the coop. The top inch or so of the ground is thawed here today (if it’s in a area the sun hits), but that makes it really easy to muck out the coop…somebody made a mess in the yard🙄.

We got about 6-8" of snow today. Light work but took awhile to clean up.
