B7100HST - Need Pruchase Advice

New member here, and long time lurker.

Found this B7100HST with 650 hrs with a bucket, and brush hog. It's a 1981-82 model. Asking price $4750

Is this a fair price?

What issues should I be looking out for?

Dealer claims no issues, very good mechanical condition, and was a trade in for a larger tractor.

This would be for my 5 acre lot, and my first tractor purchase. Getting tired of renting.

Looks like todays your lucky day and I seen this post.
Since I have 2 of these and know how freaken awsome they are, and I'll clue you in.
That tractor is NOT as old as you were told, its a 2nd generation or new style B7100HST 1990-1994 because of the 6 bolt front rims, newer style steering wheel center piece and grey frame, excellent loader choice as well as cutter on back(brush hog) hours.......SWEET...........PRICE.......SWEETER..........now run as fast as you can and buy this, because somebodys going to let the cat out of the bag on this gem, because this is an abolute deal. Parts no problem on them, these are what made Kubota stand out.

Well, I bought it. It was in good shape and well taken care of.

But I couldn't find the date on the left side of foot rest.

But I did get what I think is the serial number on the left side transmission. Is that the correct location?

Serial #76459.

TractorData.com indicates the B7100HST was manufactured through 1997, but doesn't list serial numbers beyond 1994.


As a side note, this dealer took this as a trade in, and doesn't even sell Kubotas. Had it on his lot three days, and just put it on Craigslist this morning.

71302 was the start of the last year 1994 so 76459 was end of the line of the last year produced, you did really well!

I neglected to mention, I did find two small issues. A broken headlight needs replaced, and the attach point for the seatbelt is missing.

Very small issues. You found a great bargain on an awesome tractor. Have you confirmed that the hour meter is working? It isn't uncommon to find such low hour machines, but my dad and I bought a skidsteer with fair hours on it, to find out that the meter worked intermittently. So, we don't really know the true hours on it. Either way, you can look at the tractor and tell if wasn't ridden hard and left out wet.

Excellent Buy! I have the exact same model and this little sucker is a beast!
I didn't get lucky enough to find one with a loader so I'm building my own for it.

Took delivery late this afternoon, and yes, the hour meter is working.

Great deal, that is $500 more than the 7100 that I bought without a loader and mine had a finish mower.
