AI narrated and I would say the "script" is at the very least AI "enhanced" .
I agree cool from the standpoint of the vintage photos!
My dad was a journeyman tool and die maker , having served his apprenticeship with Allis Chalmers tractor division located in West Allis Wi, employed early 1950's to 1962 or so. I would love to hear his stories and willing to bet I was one of a few kids in the 3rd grade that knew what Johansson blocks were! lol

I have been in the trade for 63 years and have seen pretty much everything in that video. Not much AI BS in the video, maybe the voice is a bit controlled. My opinion is that every person wanting to get in the trade should watch that video, and when they are done snickering, watch it again. Still snickering? Go flip burgers.

The script is mostly A.I. generated nonsense meant to fill time and envoke emotion. It takes a generality and narrows it to a refined yet generic point, then continues with the next generality describing broad concepts with exacting language that in reality conveys nothing more than the original generality. I see A.I. generating dozens of the same type of "real forgotten was stories" told in different voices on different accounts, all based on the same script and almost always "imagined."
Computer fakery has spread most everywhere, telling false stories to get views and drive ad revenue.
Gypsies have done the same thing for decades, Fortune Tellers using a few bits of reality to weave a relatable story where the listener fills in the gaps. Storytelling for them is a highly honed skill, used to separate a fool from their money by willful deception.

I'm not so sure the narration is AI. Yes, it's a script and that may have been AI enhanced but I think that's an actual human speaking. The pacing isn't perfect, once in a while you can hear him take a fresh breath and once or twice there was a slight stumble in the pacing -- as if he was flipping to the next page. If it's computer generated speech then the algorithm is far more sophisticated than I've ever encountered before.
While I'm not "in the trade", it does sound very familiar and pretty much describes my home machine shop setup in 2026 -- reverse engineering broken or worn parts, layout and planning, prepping the machine and materials, bringing machines, materials and metrology up to temp first (especially in winter!), pads on the concrete floor, accumulation of swarf and smells in clothing, SWMBO's adversion to same, etc. etc. 100 years of tradition, unimpeded by progress.
I have a couple of 3D printers and a CNC mini-router. I have access to a decent size Tormach 4 axis mill and a 4 axis CNC lathe. Plus all the required software and computing power to CAD things and convert the resultant 3D renderings to g-code tool paths. They all have their place but the process is not nearly as satisfying and therapeutic as standing at the machine nudging the handwheels, measuring the results and fine-tuning the final pass.
Honestly, for hand-fitted custom repairs and replacements on old worn machinery, the old manual techniques are often faster and more efficient. CNC excels in reliably repeatable multiple copies of new parts, but for one-off repairs my go-to is usually the manual machines.

I think thats a bit of romantic hyperbole but fundamentally accurate. It is obviously a new production and may be AI enhanced but sounds very much like a lot of old manufacturer produced factory documentaries I have viewed. For example:
