Block Heater, How to remove?

My block heater on my L 3301 HST is shorted out.
I have not looked to see where it is located on the left side of the engine (TOOO damb cold here}.
From what I see on line it has an adapter that is pressed into the block and the heater is threaded [nto the adapter.
Does it all come out if just wanting to replace the heater or will the heater just unscrew?
Any and all info will help!

The heater should just unscrew from the adapter.

Thank you, that is what I was hoping, but wanted to know before I started to screw things up ( I have done that before!)

Your block heater should be shorted.
