Hello.
I am working on a BX1880. There is no pressure in the PTO clutch valve. The next step is to check the relief valve. But the manual does not show too well where it is. I think it is this one hiding by the filter. Can any one confirm it before I take the wrong one off? Thanks

Have you had the pto control valve out yet? the inlet usually ends up with a piece of silicone plugging it keeping the oil from entering the valve

Yes, I should have said that. We took it out and all the holes are clear. I would think there would be pressure in the test port. Assuming the flow is from inward to outward. Kinda kicking our selves for not doing the pressure check first.

There is no relief valve specifically for the PTO valve.
There is no pressure relief valve where your looking, the pressure relief is in the pump.
Do you have no hydraulic flow or pressure to the three point, steering, loader if equipped?

That is for the BX1800. Looks quite a bit different then this BX1880. The valve I am looking for has a pressure setting of around 71PSI. Here is the rest of that diagram I could not get them in the same pic.

That is NOT from a BX1800 but it is not the PTO relief valve, my bad.
Download the WSM and search.

You have to take off the filter to see the PTO relief valve.

That is the right regulator. It looked fine. So I pulled the valve again, and there was the common chunk of RTV in there. Interesting that they have the flow go from the outside to the inside so when blocked there is no pressure at the test port. Would be nice if they would say the test port only has pressure with the valve on. Last time we took a wire from a wire brush and poked it through. I would swear it went all the way in. I saw a post somewhere where the poster said he had to use a drill to clean it out. I took one of the wife's sewing needles, and had to tap it through to get the RTV out. Ended up breaking it into several pieces. But it was the usual cat claw shaped piece.

I'm batting 0 - 2 today. Sometimes my head is so far up I have to use a borescope to find it and for that I humbly apologize.

So the first picture in the original post was correct (the PTO clutch relief valve)?
Pesky RTV, glad you found it though.

No biggie. Gave me the push I needed to look further in the manual. Not sure why, I am usually good at deciphering manual, but this one Just confuses me. I guess part of it is the tractor is one place, and my computer is at another. I looked at that pic I posted yesterday and could not figure what side they were showing it from. Now I look at it after spending more time under the tractor, and I can see they do kinda show the filter and hyd paths. After playing with the BX today, I kinda like it. Thanks.
