Leveling Boxblade with QuickHitch?

I have two issues with the QuickHitch. First, it hits my tail lights if the center 3-point link locknut comes loose. Has done this a couple of times and busted one of my lights.

2nd, I cannot get the boxblade level when the QuickHitch is used. Am I doing something wrong? The box stays leaned back a bit no matter how much I adjust the hitch.

I hate to do it, but the QuickHitch is coming off while I use the boxblade, unless I can figure out how to level it.

The top link can go in three different positions. Try a different one and just make sure it's really tight with a wrench once you get it where you want it.

Not sure which “level” you can’t achieve but assuming it is the front to back adjustment you may need a different (probably longer) top link since the quick attach adds a few inches to the lower arm length.

You may be able to modify the implement to move the top attachment point a few inches towards the tractor?

With the quickhitch on, if I level the box, then the hitch hits my taillights and busts them out. I have to pull the box that far forward to get it level. I just took the hitch off and now I Can level the box without hitting anything. It only took me about 5 minutes to get the box off the hitch and maybe 10 to put the box back on the tractor without the quickhitch. With this small tractor, I dont think I will heed the quickhitch.

Maybe in the future when I am swapping the box out with the mower on a regular basis, I will put the hitch back on.

I tried to move the top pin a few months back, but it did not work. I don't remember why it didn't work, but I remember that something tried to bind on me when I tried to move the pin. So I left it in the one hole that has the sticker on it saying it is the typical one to be in.

Looks like a setup similar to what you have. I bought it all as a set. But mine is 2502. Hitch is QH16.

This is as far forward as i can tilt it without the hitch hitting the taillights when i raise it. Notice that the inside/forward blade doesn't touch the ground.

Perhaps a QH05 would have been a better choice for that tractor.

Looks like you have plenty of room to lift it without hitting the lights. Sure, you can't lift to maximum height, but I'm not sure why you'd need to.

This statement (means to me anyway) just to add a stop on the three point control lever so you can’t move the quick high up enough to hit the lights, just enough be above ground.

That is good for most level areas but going through a ditch, the implement could be driven up higher by contact with the ground as the tractor rear wheels descend into the ditch.

You could add a hydraulic top link to adjust the angle as you are moving around but that would still require a lot of attention as you move around and I would forget to adjust it so it wouldn’t break the lights.

I think you could also adjust the feed back rod to limit the upwards movement and possibly chain the arms down so they could not be driven up too far.

But the simplest solutions seems to be a different quick hitch or no quick hitch, or remove the rear lights.

I am amazed at how much easier the hydraulic top link has made my life. And it's especially useful with a box blade.

Take a look at the adjustment options on the lift arms that attach to the lower arms. The lower arms should have different holes to attach the lift arms and doing so will chance the lift height. Another option is just don't lift the to the max position. I had a problem with the lift height on my previous LX2610 that bent the arms used to lift the MMM deck. I used a mechanical stop on the 3 point lift control lever to stop me from raising the arms to max position. The mechanical stop was a Kubota part. I now have a LX4020 and I was surprised by the difference in lift height difference between my new and old tractors. With a little messy around you should be able to fix it.

Tighten (shorten) that top link to get the box level. Then adjust the 3-point lever height stop to where the boxblade won't rise high enough to touch the tail lights.
My B2650HSD has a screw tightened block built into the 3-point lever slot for lowering limiting, maybe one could be put above the lever to limit height instead of drop level?
