I emailed Bro-tek to get a price on their brush forks to find out they don't make them anymore. So I decided to take things into my own hands and make my own. I'll post some better pics tomorrow after I get them painted.

haha. Gonna paint them orange. It was .120 wall. They are super strong! At some point, I am going to get some expanded metal I can bolt to it and use to sift some dirt too.

If I may ask, I see the brackets on the sides but is there any brackes on the back edge along the back side of the bucket,, I just figures that there would be a ton of torque put on the side bolts with out something holding it down in the back

Nah, just the two side brackets for now. It seems to be working fine on the BRO-TEK piece, but I'll add another one if it seems to need it.

Finally got to thy them out today. They work absolutely awesome. I had a huge pile of brush including 3-4 20ft long trees and a pine stump that was 12" around and about 5 ft long. It picked up the hole pile in two trips! It is unbelievably strong! I even picked up a huge rock that was about 20" around and bounced it up and down on the tips of the times and it took it just fine! Anyway, I snapped a few shots for you guys to check out:

What size material did you use for the tines? I see .120 wall but I can't quite tell the outer dimensions. Thanks. Impressive by the way.

Thank you sir for the prompt reply. I'll definitly find myself making a set of these in the near future. The size of your tines has the most appeal to me, over what I've seen others use. Now if I can just get over drilling in my new bucket.

Very Impressive. Do you mind if I copy? How long are the tines from the front edge of the bucket to the taper tip? I have a lot of brush to clean up.

Good job on the forks!

Just an idea, how about using pins and clips instead of bolts , so that it can be a quick change in the field if need without use of tools?

I just want 5% for the idea, when you start selling them. :D

Thanks! They are 1x2x.120 rectangle tubing.
Can you give me a ball park figure what to expect to pay if I have a local metal fabricator make these for me ? I understand it will depend on location. Also your recommended length for the forks. One of the best do it yourself jobs I ever saw , really neat.

I will be endeavoring to make a set of these as well. I have the rectangular tubing but need a few more design questions answered.

What size angle was used - 2x2x1/8 ? Distance from back angle to the forward one?

What clearance is left of the sides? 1/2" or will that be too loose?

Distance between the bolt holes on bucket?

Prayer said before drilling the holes through my brand new baby ha ha:rolleyes:

Trying to get em knocked out quick. Any help is greatly appreciated.
