Two Richards and a Roger ... not sure of the guy on the right. The Wild Geese rings a bell. I was a fan of The Guns of Navarone, Where Eagles Dare etc., and probably read every book that Alistair MacLean wrote and definitely seen every movie adaptation of his novels. One of the best novelists of his era, or any era for that matter.

Anyone see The Road with Viggo Mortensen? That film as well as The Book of Eli with Denzel Washington are my two favorite apocalyptic movies, but for me The Road is by far the most realistic and consequently the most disturbing.

Yes saw that. And yes, I agree, realistic and disturbing.

Anybody seen "The quiet earth"?

One of my most favorite old time movies: "The Wages of Fear" (1958 is the original version)
I think there has been a newer remake version and some knock offs of the original plot.

The movie that convinced me that I never wanted to go on a cruise ship was the classic The Poseidon Adventure.

I was on a cruise ship and had the opportunity to visit the bridge. What I found scary was that the first officer did not no the angle of no return of the ship nor could he tell me what the levers on a console labelled "Rolls Royce" were used for.

So yes, I think you made the right decision there (y)
