Just got back from the dealer checking out the LX2620. That is a sweet tractor. Will have the sales guy stop by this week to see what they will give me for my 1880. Guess will see if I am getting a new tractor or not. Won't be giving in on trade in. If its to low, then will keep the 1880.
You can always sell private. BX tractors hold their value pretty well, and sell well online.

That’s an option. I look at CL multiple times a week looking at attachments. See allot of used sub tractors but no kubotas. Will wait for the quote from the salesman before I decide which way to go. Would like to get the LX but not at a loss on my 1880. My 1880 is doing the job but having more needing more lift issues, which got me to consider a larger tractor. Should find out by the end of the week. Thanks for the suggestion.

When i was at my dealer we ran the numbers on 3 tractors: B2601,Lx2620 and L2502. The B2601 W/60" mower was $23,012, the lx w/60" was $25,257 and the L2502 w/60" was $25,330. The L and Lx were a much better buy in what I was looking for.
I assume that the dealer quoted you some sort of 3 point hitch rear mounted mower for the L2502 seeing how the L2502 doesn’t have a mid PTO?

Won't be getting a new tractor this year. Wow, talk about low ball for trade in. To close to winter to sell so will wait until next year. Hopefully interest rates are lower. 10% through kubota financing. Cheaper when I bought my 1880 4 years ago.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. After all, your 1880 has served you well for 4 years.

I have a BX1880 new in 2021 and it has done everything I've asked but I always wondered about upgrading mostly for a better selection of 3 pt. attachment options. Got financed at 0.90% at the time. Can't imagine going to 10% now.

If I may be so bold to ask what did the dealer offer you for trade in?

$11,000.00. Dam joke. $36000 for the LX2620 with loader and 60 inch mower. My 1880 is a 2021 and think my financing was I think 1.9% for 5 years. 10% is a rip off. I just want more lifting power. Still cat I for 3 point so all my attachments would work. Oh well, loss for them. When I am ready, will try to sell locally.

WTFO…I had no idea they cost that much now. Sure seems like a lot to me. I’ve shared in other threads my thoughts of BX vs B, my mix of machines and value, so need need for me to rehash that…when I think of 36k, sure there is a mower there, but that is approx what I paid for MX with loader and bucket back in 2021 (without an extras or add-ons and implements) before costs got really stupid. I just can’t process that much for an LX (and I love my B (LX)) 4 years later vs deals out there for used with much more capability….whether need it or not, just from a value point of view.

When I consider value I start with loaded weight and divide by dollars. I think if you do that with an NEW LX and a few used machines or even some larger models some things will come into focus. Works with cars, trucks whatever so long as not listening for what you want to hear. Works for the initial purchase price, certainly not total cost of ownership. It’s an interesting point of view though.

all that being said, I believe standard L is best value in the HP (26ish) range based on weight, capability and price.

happy shopping.

I sent the sales guy telling him no deal. Interest rates are to high and trade in to low. Will see if he wants to deal or not. Am doubtful for a better deal. Oh well. Still enjoying my BX (aka over sized garden tractor as some folks call it)

I came up with $29,500 with loader and mower. The dealer must have some significant options on there.

i am in the exact same boat, the trade offered for my 2010 Bx 2360, loader, 51” front blower and quick hitch with. 100 hrs was less than the cost of just the new blower. And it’s too close to winter to try and sell and get new tractor. I’ll wait and see what happens next spring

How much more lift capacity are you looking to get? Saw the Hydroplus lift cylinder upgrades on "A Ritter Bit Will Do". Adds 35% more lift. Cost about $900.

https://hydrosplus.com/shop/ols/products/hydrosplus-lift-hpbx300-bm-for-kubota-bx

Shim up to 2000 psi. and add bigger cylinders should get you to about 1000 lbs. at the pins.
BUT, what nobody is saying, is you have to be really careful to not twist up the loader into a pretzel, and those undersize front tires and axles are going to take a beating.

I don't load more than 3/4 capacity in the bucket now after seeing how much strain the front axles are under--and maybe I'm wrong about that, but to me the sub-compact BX looks like it'll have a lot more longevity if not maxing it out.

I think adding extra lift capacity on a BX is asking for trouble. The loader frame was designed to lift a certain amount. I'll upgrade when the time right for more lift power.

I did email the sales guy on what I came up with on the build on kubota just to see what he has to say, which was under $30,000.00. Just guessing but probably assembly cost.

Buying a new tractor is like buying a new car. Drops 20% when you take it home without putting hours on it. I see it as buy bigger then you need and don't look back. For me I bought used due to available and my time frame.

They cost what they cost.

I'm buying land at the moment. It's very expensive. It was a lot cheaper 10 years ago. But I'm not buying it 10 years ago, much as I wish I had.

I think the real problem here is the low trade-in value on the BX. BX1880 are always said to have quite a bit lower value than a BX2380, but there's more to it than that. Private sale would fix most of your problems - a 4 year old machine with low hours and in good condition should still be holding 60-70% of new value. So you should be $15-18K I think (I can't run the build my site from outside the US, so can't say for sure what a BX1880 is new).

I'm looking at a new Grand-L down here in NZ. Without a cab, and without hydraulics, still going to be up near $70K NZD. That's a lot of coin. But that's what they cost. Inflation in the last few years has been awful.
