Hello,

I recently bought an old Kubota B5001E compact tractor.
It works very well and is more powerfull than I expected.
I love it.


It looks like .... very old so therefor I will try to restore it to its original looks.

I have two questions:
1. the transmission makes alot of noice when driving, a real whine.
Is that normal or should I try to fix that?

2. When I touch the hitchlever when the hitch is in full up position it makes a screaming noise. Is that normal?

I can open the transmission or whatever needed to fix these issues, but I am such a newby in tractors that I even do not know IF this is an issue.

I know it is gray market, but I live in the Netherlands in Europe and there this is no issue.

Yes the 3 point hitch leaver, once it is fully up and if you happen to hit the leaver again it will make a screeching noise,the noisy drive i dont know as mine has an HST drive not manual.others will advise you on this site.

The 3 point lift will screech if you lightly move the lever in the up position, or try to raise it once it is all the way up. That is a normal sound, even if it is annoying. I got used to it on mine.
A whine in the transmission ( I assume that you have a manual transmission, not a hydrostatic) could be a bad bearing. I would look into that.
