The engine warning light keeps coming on from time to time in the past few days. I have checked everything it says it could be. Also replaced the fuel filter, did oil change and it still came on this morning. I also have loss of power when turning compost piles. Does anyone have any suggestions?

So I found out the P0089 code pertains to the fuel system. We did the fuel filter change so they told us after a few times under load it should erase itself and if does not to erase it with a code reader specifically for tractors. Well it has been 4 days since we did the filter change and it has not erased. I just do not have a code reader so does anyone have any recommendations?

P0089 is a SCV Stuck Diagnostic Trouble Code on Kubota Common Rail Engines.
You cannot check anything about it without KOBD Ace Kubota diagnostic service tool.
It will not unstick itself or erase itself.

Theory:
P0089 is populated when the actual rail pressure is at least 10 mPa higher than target, for 26 seconds or more, and the discharge request value of the supply pump is below 0 mm³/st. The suction control valve (SCV) is responsible for regulating rail pressure to the common rail from the supply pump by varying the fuel flow. If the SCV is unable to control the fuel flow sufficiently this code will populate. When this code is populated, there is not a physical detection that the SCV is not moving. The trigger for the code is the actual rail pressure continuing to be higher than target rail pressure for the time specified above.

Who is "They" you keep referring to?

Do not keep running it thinking it will get better or fix itself, it will not. There are a couple of Bulletins pertaining to this failure.

They is a guy that fixes tractors in my community. But he lives 5 miles up the road. The dealer said they can send someone. It will cost $180 just to be on the road then $180 per hr. Once the problem is diagnosed they will let me know the cost. Is this another thing not covered by my Kubota insurance?

Unless "they" have a Kubota electronic service tool, "they" can do nothing to repair your tractor.

If your serial number is between 10004 to 13716, it is covered under MSC-2022-001. It is a mandatory service issue that has no end date. It should have already been completed.

You will either have to deliver your tractor to the dealer or pay for the Field Service charge.

Call your Kubota insurance and ask them.

Update: The engine light has not come on again since we did a thorough cleaning. I don’t know if that means anything but it hasn’t. The code is still there. Will be calling my Kubota dealer today

@carr5600 How did you obtain the P0089 code without a service tool?

Seems like this would also fall under the 5 year emissions warranty of nothing else.

According to the serial number range @whitetiger listed my LX3310 is above the range effected.

It is displayed on the dash where the hours are. It goes from the hours to the code.

I was looking in the workshop manual and just saw the display reading the codes beginning with E or ER. I didn't know the other codes would display there. It gives instructions for reading and clearing codes via the DPF and Regen buttons. Not sure if it works for clearing all codes and I'm sure it wouldn't work if the fault was still present.

You could give that a try to see if you can clear your code but it sounds like you should see if the service bulletin needs to be performed and get it to a dealer.

So I contacted my dealer and
MSC-2022-001 has not been done on my tractor.
I will be hauling it to the dealer Monday. Thanks.
