Where do you all typically source these? I stopped by my local dealer to pick up a brush hog wheel yoke and decided to get fluid filters for my 2502 since it's due for the 50 hour service. I definitely paid for the convenience and will be getting these elsewhere next time due to the markup involved. For instance, the HH3A0-82623 hydraulic filter cost $59.96 (plus 9.75% sales tax) and a quick search found them online for $27.

I get all my filters and SUDT from my dealer. I found out it’s cheaper for me than at Amazon

Buy them on line. My local dealer is very similar in price on maintenance items. But I usually pay the convenience and have them shipped to my house as my local dealer is an hour one way from me.
I did buy bulk Super UDT2 at my dealer because shipping was higher, and I bought 25 gallons.

Messick's and Coleman show ~$52 for that filter. Your dealer's price is good (no shipping) for the OEM filter, and you know it truly is an OEM filter versus a copy of unknown quality.

That on-line price from E-Bay or wherever might be a good deal (if it is not a knock-off) or it might do some real damage to your machine. I would not take the risk for ~$30 in savings; plus you want to support your dealer (you might need them some day).

As always, it's your machine and your choice.

Not a great idea. You don't have to change them that often. A failed filter will get very expensive in a hurry.

Why did you buy a Kubota tractor, only to look for cheap aftermarket filters and oil Maybe you should have purchased a cheap Kioti or Mahindra tractor. I have seen the same thing happen with people who buy luxury automobiles. They want the status of a quality automobile but do not want pay the price for quality OEM parts and oil. Their is a reason manufactures specify certain types of parts or fluids. It funny how people can pay 30, 40 50,000.00 dollars for a tractor and complain about the price of OEM filters and oil. The only thing I can say is Penny Wise And Dollar Foolish.

Suck it up.

Pay for Kubota quality once you buy the Kubota tractor.

It hurts a little but for a 25K to 100K investment, a few dollars here and there for OEM Kubota is worth it.

If that hurts, go buy a lesser brand. It might work out well.

Buy it from a K dealer.

With technology today things are possible we never dreamed of a few years ago. There are item sold on the internet, like a-zon, that are imitations of the real item. The sellers get access to containers that even look very similar to original, the put imitation product in them and sell for a "bargain" price. It's junk but buyer is convinced they got an original at a good price.

Go look on the internet and you can find examples of buyers describing the difference in the containers, and item, once the get the item. Specifically oil filters. Beware!!

Dealer if Kubota parts. Too much fake junk. Plus I like my dealership. Same family owned and run for decades. Same dealer I purchased my NH back in '01. Great service for a fair price. IRRC, ~$14 for an oil filter vs. ???? online grey market or generic? Not worth saving a few dollars for reduced or worse hours of use.

I believe the manual requires filter replacement at 50 hours and then every 400 hours. Let's say it takes you 2 years to rack up 400 hours. Look at it like investing in your retirement. If you put $5 / month in a jar at the end of two years you have $160 to go towards filter costs. Of course none of us actually do this and are surprised by the sticker prices.

Let me just say - I have analysis-paralysis. I research and study a problem almost to the point of inaction. I too was sure I could get the same quality on-line for less when I did my first 50 service. Ordered a complete "kit" of filters, gas, oil, hydraulic. Reviews were favorable and all was assured to be just fine. Everything installed as expected and I didn't have any problems but there was just something about the quality of the filters that just didn't sit right. I've seen many videos where they tear apart filters and inspect the filter medium. Some are laughable.

At 200 hours I changed everything again, fluid included, not because I had to but it had been a couple of years of hard use and I felt I could sleep better knowing everything was done. I went to the local dealer this time and was surprised their prices for OEM filters and fluids were the same or less as on-line. And I walked out the door with everything in-hand without waiting for it to be delivered.

Long story, I know, but a couple hundred every 2 - 3 years to me is reasonable.

I buy Kubota parts for the reasons mentioned but it does irk me a bit knowing that its costs a small fraction of $59.96 to produce that filter.
Sure it does, but manufacturing cost is only part of the price ... I'm a truck driver, and I'm not going to deliver the load of filters for nothing, neither is the receiver going to unload and warehouse the filters for nothing ... Somebody has to pay for that building too, then they go on another truck from the Kubota distribution center to the dealer, who then stocks it on there shelf in there building staffed by paid employees, and in some locations they got to pay an inventory tax too ...

Besides Kubota and the dealer network are "for profit" business, not a charity.

Buy a BMW or Kubota if you want high-end engineering.
But, you will pay the price continually in filters and parts.

Or buy a KIA or Mahindra or ? and save $ or peanuts buying filters and parts.

If you have the money to buy a top tier Kubota tractor, buy top tier parts from the manufacturer or dealer.

Dont bitch that you can buy a Chicom made filter for 1/4 the cost.

Is that Chicom filter savings worth risking the price of a new engine?

Feel free to post the names/models of the filter that is the same as the Kubotas. Note: I'm not waiting for your response since I'm fairly certain none exist. :D. Messicks has cut open some filters to show the differences.

I agree other engine filters are made by third parties. You do need to make sure before you subject your expensive engines to the unknown.

Buying a filter that you know to be the equal of the OEM (presuming that you are not just relying on a cross match chart of unknown accuracy) can be a reasonable choice; however, often the other high quality filter is about the same price.

Buying a filter purported to be OEM at a dramatic saving could easily lead to installing a sub-standard counterfeit filter.

BTW, it is unfair to compare Kubota to BMW. Kubota is more like a Toyota/Lexus - highly reliable with very low depreciation. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

I have owned several BMWs. I still own one.

Euro market is a bit different than the US market.

But if you want quality in the US - online market, Buy original filters from the Kubota dealer. Or roll the dice.

Chicom copies everything.

Cut apart a few Mann online filters and see the difference btwn each one.

We are being tricked into buying junk.

Toyota and the sub Lexus have been copying BMW for years. As well as Acura and Infinity.

So much that they couldn't keep up and now the Toyota Celica Supra is actually a BMW in Toyota badges.

Look into it.
