Not sure what I’m going to use it for, but had to jump on the deal. Not a ton of smaller discs hit the used market in my area, and they’re typically all angle iron units that are 95% roached out and missing hardware. No thanks…

I found a 0-hour Land Pride DH-1560 less than 60 miles from home. Seller’s late husband had a habit of buying things and not using them much, from the sounds of it. No kidding, this thing was still strapped to the pallet that made up the bottom for the shipping crate. Never been hooked to a tractor…

So, for $1,200, I have a new (with mild paint fade and light surface rust only on discs) 628# box tube unit with 16 notched discs. I’ll drag this behind my B2650, which I think will be ok on my flat and loamy property. I have wanted to smooth out a pasture for a while, but didn’t want to buy new.

Patience finally paid off! Looks like I paid about 40% of current retail.

Not dirty, but maybe a touch guilty. The old guy paid $2100 for it a few years ago. Son listed it for $1800, but I had a budget that I was willing to part with. As nice as it is, the implement wasn’t worth more than $1200 to me. I didn’t expect them to accept it, but his mom was just glad to get it gone.

So, I guess I really don’t even feel guilty. It just worked out.

I’ve had good luck with used stuff.
Bought my WM 62” flail for $1,500 with so little use on it that the blades were still shiny black.
Bought my WM-8H chipper for $2,500 with 18.1 hours on it. Still had the plastic sleeves on the hoses…
Bought my 60” heavy Woods box blade for $900 with barely any paint rubbed off the blade cutting edge.
Bought my Land Pride RTA 1558 tiller for $1,300, but had to get a PTO shaft.

I’ve been lucky to be in the right place at the right time.
