What's cookin' boys?

We're doing a super bowl style dinner tonight.

Kids rattled off about 7 different things for me to make. Made them narrow it down to 3. Little smokies was the first. Put some on just after lunch.

Got some pigs in a blanket along with some taco dip to go with our little smokies. Perfect match huh? LOL. Its what the youngins requested. Almost made vegetable egg rolls with it to, told the kids they were all over the place today LOL.

Made some brownies for dessert. I got a half a bag of dark chocolate chips, a whole bag of heath toffee pieces, with 2tsp of espresso powder and a touch over a .25cup of strong coffee up in these bad boys, among the other basics....SUPER RICH though.

Fageetah night for the Mrs. 2 1.7lbs skirts with all the fixens.

2 out of 3 youngins have requested pineapple with it tonight. A mexican joint over in crystal springs serves you fajitas in half of pineapple if you want it. They loved it.


Out to the griddle we go



Got that good sear.... you gotta stay alert and move quick on these hot dudes to get that med rare on pieces this big. No playin around, this is serious!

Blueberry Rhubarb. Is really awesome.

For anyone interested. She doesn’t use tapioca in this or any rhubarb pies.

Might have posted recipe before.

Both the berries and rhubarb are frozen here.

Turned 70 today and had a nice dinner . Local corn finally, garden zucchini, and a bacon wrapped filet mignon that UPS delivered a frozen box of from Omaha steak. Love the gift of meat.

We used to put atleast 4 a day in the mailbox for our last postal delivery lady. Everyone at the post office shared them. Then we got a guy that would stuff the mail in around them so we stopped. I keep praying for squash bugs 🪳.

If you get a couple big ones, stuffed zucchini with sausage is a good treat.

Never thought them to freeze well. Make hay when the sun shines....

I made snacks from them for a while. They were pretty good.

Tried freezing noodles but that didn't end well.

Down here, it's okra. Once that stuff starts it won't stop 'til frost. My okra recipe - cut it when the pods are 1 or 2 days old, 1-1/2" long or so. Sprinkle with seasoned salt and steam for 7 minutes. Okra poppers. You have to grow it yourself, the market won't have baby pods.
