folks, I think he dang thing is a leash, but wife gets up set when she leaves and I don't answer the phone, especially when I'm doing tractor work. Don't like keeping it in my pocket and I tried to put in the cup holder and it eventually bounces out. So, looking for pics of what others have done, tractor really doesen't matter but I have an old 2003 BX2200.. thanks

No matter what tractor I am on or in I wear 3M bluetooth hearing protectors that are paired to my phone. I normally listen to Pandora as I work and a phone call will interrupt that for incoming calls. One push of the button on the side will answer the call and the built in microphone seems to transmit my voice to the caller clear as a bell. I usually stop and disengage the mower or whatever and idle the tractor down while on a call but I don't usually have to turn it off to have a conversation. Push the button once more to terminate the call. A quick double push of the button while listening to Pandora will signal it to go t the next song selection.

Tractors do matter in the subject because they all have some difference in storage availability. Both of my cab tractors have a spot I can just lay the phone in and it will remain in place. My JD has a compartment with a lid. I have a plastic ammo box mounted on my mower with a wash cloth in the bottom to cushion the phone.

My point is with bluetooth hearing protection on you don't need to have the phone in a visual area and it has the added advantage of protecting your hearing.

didn't really think of the blue tooth "mickey mouse ears" thanks OM. Thing is, where I'm at, the temp and humidity, not sure how comfortable they would be. What I'm kind of looking for is if anyone has a mount they modified or made for this phone. My 2200 does not have a cab or any place flat to lay a phone, thanks for the blue tooth info though..

If you have a cup holder you aren't using for a water bottle Weather Tech makes a cup holder phone mount that would probably work for you. I use my cup holders to hold water bottles though and I imagine everyone else does.

RAM Mount - X-Grip - Aluminum (not plastic, aluminum doesn't harmonically vibrate)
and a 12V SAE to 5V USB plug (with digital readout).

I've run some very expensive magnetic charging systems, but by far the RAM Mount components and USB plug-in are the most reliable, easiest to use, and don't burn out the phone when something goes wrong.

They also make noise cancelling blue tooth ear buds that you can use instead of the over ear style. There are also some that play sound through the bone area in front of your ears but they are not sound canceling (as far as I know).

I've been using these for several years and they've been great...

1) Magnetic holder. You just need to glue the metal plate to your phone/case. This is my favorite option and has never moved unintentionally.

on the ROPS:

2) Otter box case/holder ziptied to ROPS. It worked great but I found it to be a bit frustrating getting the phone in and out of the holder.

100% agreed. I do the same. The droning of the diesel engine and clacking roar of the finish mower make ear muffs essential even if I don't connect them to my phone. I used to have DeWalt BT earmuffs but upgraded to Walker Game Ears that also double up for hunting season. Do yourself a favor and get yourself a pair of BT ear protectors.

Cell phone must be readily accesable

Clothing pocket is the BEST solution!!
If you fall off the tractor, and are injured, it is somewhat likely that you may not be able to reach your phone, while you can see it sitting in your tractor mounted phone holder,
Any way that suits you,........ but keep the phone on your body!

Also appropriate for working alone in the woods !!

Let me share a story of a customer of mine. He is 79 yrs old, 6'4", huge feet and bad knees. He owns many john deeres and lots of massey Fergusons. It was two Winters ago the snow storm had stopped and he had used one of his tractors with a snow pusher on the front to move snow.
Parked it in the equipment shed. Getting off , his foot slipped and went thru the step loop under the tractor when he fell.
Laying there at 20*f. Not able to free his foot or move his leg. He told me he knew he was done. He lives alone with two dogs. His son lives across the street. So as he lay there. He then remembered
His flip phone in his shirt pocket. He never carries it. Never uses it. But that night he did. Called his son. His son and the cell phone saved him. So yes keep your phone on you. I agree.
Recently I received dewalt ear buds for my birthday for tractor work. I honestly haven't used them on the tractor yet. But plenty of use in the welding shop.
The neck band vibrates for incoming calls.
My hearing isn't good. But sometimes the volume is to high. I really like them and know on the tractor I'll like them too.
Wearing earmuffs for me in the summer are way to hot.

They also make phone holders to go on your arm, you could just strap it to the ROPS. Not sure if vibration would affect it though.

Strapping your phone "to the ROPS is exactly what should be avoided.
While your tractor is lying on it's side, with you partially pined underneath, the phone attached to the ROPS will only provide a view..... of what you should have done differently!

RAM: Large X-Grip (holds the phone case with stand ((thick))), 3" aluminum arm, 1" ball to 1/4"F camera thread
Ulanzi: Magnetic camera base

If hit hard enough (really hard) the camera base will detach from the hood instead of something busting. Easy to find, easy to see, easy to get the phone in and out, doesn't drop the phone like a magnetic charger with auto-close/open. Cover the phone with a shop rag or plastic bag to keep the charger port from getting gritty in dusty conditions, which also allows for plugging in the phone.

easy solution... when wife leaves give her the phone ! That way SHE can answer all those 'important' calls while you're busy cutting grass or other 'tractoring'. After you tell her that, post which hospital you're in so I can send some flowers....
