I'm planning on getting a rock bucket (or as HLA calls them, "stone fork") for my Kubota MX5400. I need help choosing a size. I'm settled on HLA as a brand (they're local and widely available) and their Compact Duty line, the question is only on width:
SFRC48 = 48" = 410#
SFRC55 = 55" = 450#
SFRC62 = 62" = 490#
SFRC70 = 70" = 530#

The stock bucket on the MX5400 is 72", same as the outside width of the rear tires.

Purpose will be mostly sorting through several piles of dirt full of a mix of "real" rocks and broken concrete, as well as general cleanup of other rocks lurking in the ~2 acres around the house. Our soil around here is quite clayey and I'm not raking fields, so I'm thinking to err on the smaller side to make it easier to dig in. But how small?

Yep, a 70" as @jyoutz said. I have a 72" Ranette Ironworks rock bucket that I bought to use with the MX. It was used a bit when I bought it, but in good enough condition for me to be ok paying $1,300 for it.

The teeth on the bucket will make it very easy to dig... I'm usually one to buy the smaller size but NOT in this case, 70"

You want the most area to shake the dirt out to separate rocks and dirt, get the most area you can. Beside, your tractor can handle the extra weight. My 2 cents...
