New L4802 on the way. I see alot of advice to keep the rpms up to help keep the dpf filter from clogging up.
PTO speed is 2600rpm. For loader work what rpm would be good? What rpm is considered running to low? I've heard not to operate these newer dpf tractors like older pre-dpf tractors.

Assuming its HST so RPM doesn’t directly impact ground speed, I keep mine at 1800 minimum with rare exception and even then, not for long (idling for a couple minutes, idled down to engage PTO, etc.). That’s what the selling dealer advised and it seems to work to keep regens every 50 hours or so. I don’t know if that’s “right” it’s just what I do and it seems to work OK.

What you have heard - is correct.

Babying a diesel PERIOD is bad - but a DPF - very bad!

I would run above 2.2K most all the time

my opinion is 2,200

if it needs to regen and your rpm are too low on many Kubota models the computer will tell you to up the rpm's. Not sure on your exact model as I do not own one.

depending on outside temps, working load, etc..... 2,200 +/- and computer will start the regen. Less its not happy so no go on the regen... higher and it will start the process, drop it down below and the regen will stop. Thats my experience.

Last winter with the MX6000 I would blow snow at 2,200 rpm, push snow at 1,800 rpm, drive back up the hill at 2,500 rpm and putter around (and engine warm up) at 1,400 rpm. I used fuel consumption and hours between regens to determine if this was a good strategy ... and it was.

Yes, HST. Which is about what I was thinking but wanted to hear what people were actually doing.
