Hi, I was wondering if I could use this as a top link the way it is

I have seen 'ratchet' style top links before.

I bolt them onto the implement, save the PITA adjusting them when swapping implements....
..also they tend to NOT go 'walkabout'..

Top links usually have more flexibility in the ends. It provides more movement in all directions. I'm not sure why you need a new one, but Tractor Supply carries a good selection for very reasonable prices.

A have that on my rear blade to operate the offset functions. It’s called a ratchet jack, not a top link, but I guess if the pin sizes fit, it could serve in a pinch but yes, it’s not too flexible because it has no ball ends to swivel. Get an actual top link.

that doesn't have any swivel / ball ends.
It could work but I wouldn't use it on mine as would tend to oval out the pin / mount holes.

In regard to the walkabout you refer to. I have a problem with that issue
when running the tiller. Would the solution be to add another nut to keep it from creeping?
I've been thinking about that before tilling season.

Those knock off models are all built wrong.
They are a fork end and not a ball end.
