Everything in here, but especially the brake shoes and drum.
If the shoes are oily it will actually cause them to grab.
It's 3am -- what the hell are you doing up at this ungodly hour? <lol>

(for the record, I'm leaving for work).

EDIT: I guess my 3am is your 1am. Not as bad, but still...

Dear friends thanks for all the input. I have decided to sell the tractor as is because it's too difficult finding pieces in Spain. I would appreciate if you could help me find an alternative. Not much bigger, 7500 eur max. I was thinking of buying another 7001 because I really enjoy and keep mine for spare parts. But from what I hear the pieces are often not interchangeable so that would only complicate things. Or is this information wrong? I just need one with good brakes :)

I'm in Ontario, Canada so 6 hours behind you. Northidahowolfman is in -- wait for it -- North Idaho. 2 hours behind me.

As far as parts interchangability goes, there is a lot in each family that will fit but it depends on the era of manufacture and specific model. For example there are many parts that are shared between a B6100 and a B7100 of similar eras. But there are changes between different eras and versions of the B7100. You definitely have one of the older ones.

If you are happy with it overall, you could look for a more modern version. EG: The B7100D-HST is a solid performer and still readily available over here with a lot of new parts as well as used still around to support it. The B7200 and B8200 would be similarly capable, if slightly less common. But I really don't know what the Belgian market is like, particularly pricing. Could be a completely different situation over there.

Thanks Torch unfortunately those models are all not available here. Even looking at new tractors the 7001 is hard to beat when it comes to performance and size. A brand that is growing fast here is Farmtrac, they are really big

The only issue with the B7001 is it's 45 years old so that makes parts scarce.
Parts from one B7001 will fit another B7001, Parts from a B6100D, B7100D will fit a b7001.
Most parts from a B7001 will fit a B6100HST, B7100HST.
There are slightly newer units in the B1600, B1700 that a lot of parts will cross over to, also.
The engine in your B7001 will cross over to quite a few tractor models.

Look around and see what Kubota's are available to you and I can tell you if it's a good model or not.
Very few will be in the not category.
