I am trying to find a service manual, advise or anything that could help me put back to factory setting the idling adjust spring. I make the mistake of mess with it and now I am not sure how to find out proper adjustment. Nothing on manual shows how to do this, at least not in the manual that I have. Is the number 6 and 5 on the picture attached. Right now I get a good amount of white smoke. I have done every step clean fuel, new injectors, rebuilt injection pump, not coolant loss.

Any idea would be appreciated.

The idle adjustment is not causing it to blow white smoke.

Did you rebuild the engine?

I have not rebuilt engine. Do u know how to get it adjusted to factory?
Fill me in as to what has or hasn't been done to the engine?
And Why?
Especially the idle adjustment, did you mess with the fuel adjustment on the front too?
Where did the injectors come from?
Where did the Injection pump come from or get rebuilt by?

kubota does not publish the settings for the idle and fast idle, as they are emissions-related and (by kubota) considered non-adjustable.

--per some higher up at Kubota. Just relaying that message.

Right I am sorry.

I was chasing some white smoke exhaust and some hunting at idle and under load only at specific rpm range between 800 to 1000. I don't have coolant loss. Not bubbles when removed radiator cap Replace injectors. Replace hoses fuel system everything is bypass now, water fuel filter running from jar. 1 hose to fuel pump which was replaced too and another hose return back to jar Unfortunately touch the idle adjustment at some point before send injector pump for rebuilt. I also changed the governor spring.

Just to be clear this engine is a kubota d640 running in a boat but same engine as tractors. One thing is for sure when I touch the idle setting the engine seems to smoke more.

Injectors brand new from kubota. Pump was rebuilt by diesel fuel injection service. Dfispdx.com

They seem to be good

How many shims were under5 the injection pump when you removed it?
Did you use any sealer on the shims, block, or pump when you reinstalled them?

Total of 3. I did an spill test and end up using only 1. I did use a bit of sealer on bottom left because some oil was sipping thru there.

BINGO we have a winner!
Listening to it run led me to believe you changed the shim count.
The shim count will not ever change regardless of the pump being changed.
It only changes when the block is machined.

Put the shims back on, only use copper spray for a sealer, any other sealer is too thick.
