Thanks to all. I received a double lung transplant on 12/18 and am now in physical rehab and on the mend. The arctic blast postponed my return home by 4 days which is now set for 1/28. I told them if they could get me to the tractor i could get the lane open. Plowjng snow with an HST is easier than the crazy things physical therapists dream up

Pulmonary fibrosis - first diagnosed 1/22. Untreatablw, progressive, and fatal.

Its complicated by a large hiatel hernia and GERD that likely played a roll in the formation of the fibrosis. The plan is to repair the hernia as soon as my condition improves enough for that surgery. Mean time all my food and hydration is via tube

Thank you! The rather low level of pain from the incisions has surprised me. Now that the PT people havve me using those muscles its increased slightly but still needs nothing but a couple x-strength Tylenol

With what you've gone through, a few days' discharge delay is just a small bump in the road.

Too damned cold to be venturing out anyway....

I can't imagine trying out new lungs in the cold we've been having (-10°F or below), it hurts to breathe as is!

For what it is worth my orange brother, knee mail sent..
A friend went through the same thing, she was a 3 pack a day smoker. After she did like she was told, quit smoking, quit drinking, and has been good to go for the last 7 years,,, I wish you well do as told, and dont push it, things will do what they are suppose to do

Good on you Dan! Its been 9 years since my kidney xplant. It's all plumbing.

Feel better and get ur butt back in that tractor seat.
