Considering buying heated gloves. Never owned them before. Anyone try these? Have some of the best thermal gloves but hands still get real cold. Having diabetes just makes it worst. Anyone have or used these?

I have a pair of heated gloves made by Sabot Heat that you can order via Amazon. I'm very happy with them, their construction appears to be very well done. The material so far is extremely durable. They did a great job providing a secure location for the battery in each glove. The pouch they are contained in has a zipper closure, I really expected something like a Velcro closure. The on/off button is well placed on the outside of each glove and has four levels of heat. The logo on each glove changes color based on the level of heat the user has selected. The batteries so far have lasted really well and charge quickly using the supplied charger. I'm particularly looking forward to using these this winter while on the tractor blowing snow.

Hope this helps you out, good luck and I hope you find what you are looking for.

I try to wear mitts as much as possible. I find I can do most things with mitts. Only when I can't do I switch to gloves.

Good day.

Gerbing used to make top quality gear (i am not sure in recent few years as I have not bought any recently, but if I were, I would at least look at Gerbing).

Regardless of what you buy, I would mention to be careful in terms of task you will do with them…once the little wires are broken, they are broken. (Any of the ones I have used before were not intended to be used like leather work gloves like for digging a hole or splitting wood etc). YMMV.

Good luck.

Are these the ones you have? I have the same gloves.

I have a nice pair of Gerbing (thin wire) heated gloves....
I have used them quite a bit for motorcycle trips and commuting during cold weather.
I wired them to plug right into the bikes battery tender pigtail.

I'm not sure they make them anymore.... Everything these days is leaning towards lithium battery power...
which is probably fine also.

but I always preferred the 12v wired deal
it's not that difficult to run the Y cable down your sleeves when putting on your jacket.

Anyway, Gerbings makes nice stuff.
heated jackets and sleeveless vests also.

I have 12V wired Gerbing heated gloves, vest and pant liners, and a set of heated glove inserts, and two controllers that control two items each. No fairing on a chopper and riding until the first snowfall...

No batteries to haul around or maintain and I'm always warm. I'll be installing SAE plugs on the tractor next trip to the range.

Before you go the heated gloves route, try slipping on a tight fitting pair of neoprene painters/mechanics gloves first and then a thicker pair of winter gloves. You will be amazed how much this keeps your hands warm.

Thanks for the replies. If I do get a pair, I want to make sure the wires are on the back of the hand so they won’t break as fast when using them.

+1 on the Gerbing. It's geared toward motorcycles, but that doesn't matter for tractor operating. I have the full kit for the bike (riding in low 20s is comfortable) and use the jacket liner + gloves for the tractor. They just plug in to a power outlet with a coiled extension (should I forget to unplug before exiting the seat.

I bought a pair of Dakota thermalelectric gloves about ten years ago. They have lithium battery packs with three heat settings. One charge can last an afternoon of shoveling. I can wear just a good pair of mittens, but I have a couple of fingers that freeze quickly. I once bought a pair that just used a single "D" battery. I think the battery was exhausted before I got out the door.

Heated gloves and heated boots are friggin’ AWESOME!

I have used them both for skiing for many years and simply adopted the tech to work clothes and outdoor gear in general.

Check out Hotronics insoles….best I have found…not cheap. Gloves…get any of those Amazon type for 30-50 bucks…they last 2-3 years and toss em.

I can't offer advice, yet. They are on my Christmas list although my kids and wife don't usually buy what's on my list. :D. They buy what they think I want. It's ok. Usually, they choose really well!
