A local Kubota dealer will sell me a SPL0548 snow pusher for my BX23S for $300 less if I take it in the crate and assemble it myself. I’m a backyard mechanic and figure it should be a fairly simple assembly job. Am I correct in this assumption or should I have them do it?

It couldn't be that difficult.

I would save the 300 bones for sure.

(actually I would save it, just to spend it on more_______________ (fill in the blank....Guns, ammo, rum, steel, aluminum, tools, plasma cutter consumables, cigars, safes, lathes, DRO's.......there are alot better things to spend 300 bucks on) (y)

I should have been a Congressman or Senator........those guys know how to piss money away BIGLY!

I would definitely jump on the deal if you have some wrenches. It shouldn’t need much assembly and all it would be is bolting on some metal pieces. Here is a link to the Operators Manual and in it, it shows quite a bit about what needs bolting on during setup.

What is the width of it? I bought a closed top version in 48 inches wide 2 years ago for $1400. The new ones with open top are a little over $1000 from what I just looked at. I have a gravel driveway. My pusher sinks into the ground due to thin skis. Being an open top it could be lighter. Let us know how well it works for you

The closed top was an option at one time. Don't know if it still is. I toyed with buying one, but decided against it in favor of a snowblower and plow.

They work great on asphalt or cement driveways. But pushing off on the sides where soft could be an issues. If you get one, make sure the skis are wide and adjustable.
