Ok which fuel conditioner ?

I’ve been using Hot Shots EDT + Winter defense (all in one container/treatment and small dose sizes for small volume user).

Reasons:
1. Reviews, uses / specs, and treatment sizes. I don’t use much fuel really and I don’t like wasting or leaving a container open. Since I don’t use much I treat all fuel because I don’t cycle it enough to know when I will consume it. This covers all my bases in one small dose container. Hot shots is good for storage (I am low volume user) and winter treatment.

2. I always buy local when it makes sense and they have good reputation and reviews and they have location in the great state.

Mainly number 1 but I couldn’t help myself with number 2.

Power service in the white bottle is all I use. Used own my own rig. Never gelled with this stuff. Even in -30 temps. Never bought those tank blankets since this stuff works great.

We only get a few days below -22oF every year here. Parking in a heated garage or using a block heater in an unheated garage has always worked for me. I'd be more concerned about additives if I was hitting -40oF or if I left the machine parked outside with no block heater or wind protection. I'd invest in a grill bra on the sides and front to keep the wind out.

How good is the winter blend? Ask your supplier, they'll have the specs on what they are providing

Oleracer, you will find that there are some who like to comment on every thread even if they have no clue what they are talking about just to see themselves post. Maybe they are just trying to get their post count up or maybe they just need to be recognized.

I do year round for water and lubrication. my winter choice includes an anti gel. Even though winter fuel *should* be sufficient, if it gets unusually cold and/ or you travel to a different area you could find yourself with a diesel slurpee. This is pump fuel from Eastern Virginia. I went to the western end of the state in the mountains and the overnight low temp was -5°f.

What brand/variety of treatment are you using on the margarita juice? Or just putting salt on the rim of the jar to de ice it?

I have a pump hooked up to my garage home heating oil tank..... I treat that tank with HOT 4 in 1 at every fill up.

Never had a problem with the furnace or the tractor.

home heating oil/off road diesel ... dyed (red) fuel.

The information Mikester post is very relevant to the question. He's saying to be informed about the fuel you purchase to use in your equipment. If the fuel is treated properly for your area conditions additional treatment is not necessary.

He also give advise on block heaters, wind protection and location of machine. It's all relative to the engine starting when you go to fire it up.

I talk to the owner of the station where I purchase fuel and know what he adds himself when the fuel delivery is made, and it's treated already at the supplier. With this information I do not need to add any fuel treatment for winter conditions.

If you're offended by information you think is irrelevant consider it may be very beneficial to another reader. Try not to be so selfish.
