B1550 throttle

Hi I’m new here I have a B1550 I’ve had since new 1995 I was just using it all of a sudden the throttle lever idled down on its own I pulled the lever back again and it goes back it runs fun but it just won’t stay up I have never this one so either something is wrong or my tractor is haunted lol I’m going with something wrong does anyone have any suggestions what’s happening. thank you

Somewhere on the throttle will be a pivot point that has some pressure applied to hold it in position.

I assume that there is a lever that is pulled back to adjust the throttle. Look near the bottom of that for a couple of nuts and probably some Bellville (cupped spring) washers. Loosen the locknut, tighten the nut to compress the washers and then tighten the locknut while holding the other nut in position.

Probably something like that on every tractor but more difficult to find on newer models.

Ok I will look into that as soon as I can I’m busting but to get everything ready for winter by Wednesday night for Thursday I’m having surgery and will be down for 6 weeks at least thank you for the advise

Loosen the bottom nut then tighten the upper nut till it has the right resistance, then tighten the 2 nuts together holding the top nut in place.

Ok thank you that is definitely my set up this is very helpful and thank you for the quick responses it has been very helpful In all these years this is the first time I’ve needed any help with this tractor it has been the best purchase ever in 24 years replaced the alternator once and water pump and and belt once and just the routine maintenance love my orange tractor
