Today's temps mid 50s. Several days ago, gave "OJ" a bubbly bath. Tractor both started, operated fine. Been off a couple days. Installed the battery today. Cranks fine, no start. With my hearing being what it is unable to hear the fuel pump, however able to put my hand on it & seems to be vibrating feels like pumping. The start solenoid cycles on & off with the key. All the electricals (lighting) at the dash, body, all doing their thing. I did manage to find the fuse box just under the dash each fuse pulled, tested fine, reinstalled. I've no idea if any other fuse locations under the hood area? The safety switches around / under the seat I cycled those plungers as well. With the day drawing to a close just too dark for me to investigate further. Just for the hell of it called a "K" dealership (Townline). Talked of having them make a field trip as one of their flyers just happen to come via snail mail. They're just about 50 miles away, would involve 2 trips. 1 to come preform evaluation, 2nd trip to perform any repairs / parts replacements. The cost for each trip alone $400.00. I'm surely open to other ideas, areas of the tractor to look into. Frustrates me to no end, when I used to perform such during my RR career, yet now, lucky if able to see & open a damned medicine bottle.

Did the bubbly bath involve a pressure washer?

Yes, indeed Dave, Just the exterior, as was just too nervous to blast away further. Mainly around the back of the tractor at the backhoe, along the sides of the frame, just wasn't in me to crawl under the machine as well.

Engine cranks nice & easy / fast. Can't say I've noted smoke what little there is just about clear hard for me to see.

I don't have a WSM for your model so what follows is an educated guess.
Some small kubota's provide power to the engine stop solenoid to stop the engine which is opposite to what most tractors have. This is all part of the Operator Presence Control.
If you think about it when the key is turned off power is supplied to the engine stop solenoid for a few seconds only allowing the engine to stop. If power was supplied continuously when the key if OFF the battery would soon go dead. There is a timer relay which manages this time limited supply of power to the stop solenoid.
Try unplugging the wire connector to the stop solenoid and see if the engine starts. If it does then we can focus on the OPC circuit.

The OPC if that's the under-seat plunger, for a quick test at the time with the plunger extended eng wouldn't crank. With the plunger retracted (by sitting or maually holding the plunger in) eng would once again crank normally. The stop solenoid under the hood when energized its arm would extend while in the glow plug position. Once deenergized after a few secs would retract, which appears to be functioning properly, least going by the many YT vids advising to watch the solenoid for little to no movement being the issue during the startup procedure. The arm/plunger on mine really travels along with loud click each direction energized / deenergized. Anyways. I'll give unplugging the solenoid a try come daylight.

Morning. About to go out poke "OJ" over for the day. First test will be to unplug the stop solenoid. Then rush back inside to warm up. A brisk 32f this morning. Suns yet to come-up over the mt. Wish me luck, going to need it.

brrr... It's cold out there. Disconnecting the stop solenoid produced same results, no start. My mother's intuition seems to be leading to a failed fuel pump itself. I can't hear it percolating, though, that could be due to my loss of hearing. Hand on the pump itself can feel it doing something. I want to say in the past (just days ago) I could hear it rapidly ticking away during the glow plug & start positions. With my O'l mem banks could just be in my O'l head. I had hoped to come across a fuse for the pump itself, didn't find one in the fuse panel itself. Largest there was a lone 20amp for "Working Light". I replaced all the fuses with new, each haven been tested, both new / old good. I've yet to notice / find other fuses / relays about the tractor.

Can you separate the fuel line at some point to check if fuel is being pumped? On my BX2200 I could remove the fuel line at the second filter easily, and probably at the injector pump...

This would give you a visual indication of what is going on with the fuel supply system up to that point.

Edit: if you feel the pump vibrating when you turn the key to the on position, chances are high the pump is receiving voltage as it normally does. But the check of fuel output will answer this question IF fuel is being pumped out of the line after the pump.

Well, took me longer to remove the front brush guard, as unable to remove the side panels since an extended exhaust elbow looks to have been added at some point in its life. Guard was a real man killer. From the elbow to the palm entire right arm is deep purple aches like hell. Starting at the purge plug cycled the fuel pump not a nice stream rather a drizzle. Worked back to the first filter, line disconnected, one side at a time, same result. Worked back to the fuel pump. Outlet side little better stream, though not all that strong, I'd say a hvy drizzle. I've ordered the service kit, along with a pump. The last filter didn't take apart till I can plug the line quickly while replacing parts, getting things set up. My arm just too painful to continue for the moment.

That pump only puts out about 3 or so PSI - so it will not be a heavy stream, but it should be a steady one.

Well, I surely hope things work out, as, I'm already feeling uneasy where to turn next once the fuel system back together. Tractor started, ran fine several days ago, both before / after washing. Unit sat a day or two followed by no start. Seems I've touched on just about everything obvious. Just caught the evening news / local weather report for the night / weekend, snows here & there. Don't relish haven to lay on the ground day in, day out. "OJ" may indeed be the death of me yet!

I doubt it is cold enough to gel the diesel but you may want to be sure that your current fuel is not gelling due to the temperature.

Cooler weather, more glow plug time? Mine has gotten very sensitive to temperature. Apparently, as long as the temperature is in the 90's, starts right up. If the temperature is in the 70's, you better use the glow plugs for a few seconds. My tractor must have become a Floridian too. :ROFLMAO:

I keep the fuel mixed with Power Service year-round, little extra during the colder month, this yr. mixed somewhat early.

I probably keep the glowplug position operating longer than many folks. More of a learned habit than anything.

This evening Dr. called preforming a wellness check learning of my arm, along with knowing my tender age. Threatened to take "OJ" away from me if I don't stop, let someone else handle repairs. We laughed, joked, he'd like to have a hearse standing by. Plans to have the authorities stop by force me to visit his office as he put it "for my own good".

Replaced both fuel filters this morn. Both filled nicely with the fuel pump. A better amount out the purge port. Still unable to hear the fuel pump making its rapid tic in both glow plug / start positions. Anyways, still no start. I'll replace the fuel pump once here hopefully next week. After that, may push the "F"ing thing over the bank, if I can muster any strength left. With everything going out of focus, due to both poor eyesight, &, dark shadows, esp. when crawling around under the unit infuriates me to no end. Sherrif is to come by next week, believe Tues forcing / transporting me to the Dr's. as well.

Well that presents another question. Are the glow plugs ok, since they can burn out if on for too long?
