Thank you all for your replies, before I venture on and buy a new pump, has anyone heard of a fix (for the pump) for this particular problem where the pump can be repaired as opposed to buying a new one???
Call Oregon Fuel Injection (541) 485-1434 and talk to them.

Good morning all,

So more to this tread, maybe I should start my own tread and not hijack this one... I continued to run/troubleshoot and thinker around my 2016 1140 before I buy a new pump... I started running it more and now the smoke is gone, it will not smoke at idle and smokes normal underway until you really load up the engine going uphill...this has become the problem now, I can't really climb even the slightest slope which slows down the UTV to a crawl(maybe 3-5 miles per hour) and if the hill is steep enough the Kubota will come to a stop and the engine shuts off, is it normal for the engine to shut off? I would assume the clutch would kick in and basically neutralize the vehicle and allow it to idle with no forward movement, but instead it shuts off, when I re start the engine, I put it into low gear and then the vehicle will climb slowly (3-5 MPH)... any checks that comes to mind for me to try? no issues on flat ground.

I hope it works out for you.
Get back to us on your results if you don't mind.
We like the story to have a happy ending!!
Will do, I have learned a lot just from this thread… I actually disassembled and assembled the bottom part of the IP just to see what is in it… I wish there was a place to buy IP parts like the stopper rail Im sure there have many that failed just like mine… but all I found online was the rebuilt kits which have just the pumping internal and O-rings…

I hear you!
It's like trying to find a replacement for the little screw thing in a crescent wrench!
Hmmm, would that be a Metric or SAE Crescent wrench???

I'd guess shops that do rebuilds for a living have stockpiles of junk parts - now which one???

oddly enough after ordering a new pump I found the part I needed to fix my pump…

This place in the UK has all kinds of Diesel parts in case anyone ever needs hard to find parts…

I’ll post my results once I receive and install my new pump…

Good morning all,

Well, I ordered a new pump, after a couple of tries my KUBOTA 1140 is running great; I had some difficulty installing the pump as I didn't line up the pump's rack to the grove inside the governor fork? had to take the pump off again a couple of times until got it right, primed the pump, made sure it was spitting fuel out of the 3 outlets(and then made sure it wasn't pushing fuel while cranking with the switch off) bleed the lines into the injectors and then it fired right up... day and night difference on the performance... the hill I had to drop to low gear to climb at just 4-5 MPH now I can climb in Hi gear at 10-12 MPH.

With assembling and disassembling this thing, now I feel very confident to even rebuilding the pump, I have my old one which I ordered the part which was broken off and will save it as a spare.

Next quest will be hopefully adding more power to my 1140, maybe bigger plungers and a turbo with bigger tires to see if I can achieve the 30 MPH mark???...will be saving some money before then...I spent $3400 bucks on my KUBOTA (price tag/buying it and $450 for the new pump) it is a 2016 so not sure if I'm ahead or upside down on it but, it have what I wanted a diesel UTV...

Steering seems loose, have some play/slack so that's another thing I need to work on...also need to buy a windshield among other little things...

Any further pointers please feel free to chime in.
