Anyone try these (BX tractor upgrade)?

Has anyone on the forums tried these cylinders?
Don't recall this thread from last year, but the topic has come up a lot of times.

It's not just the BX loaders. If I recall correctly, even the larger loaders up to the M series may have the same issue.

Dan's LA525 on an L3901 is configured the same way.

I don't think heavier-duty cylinders will change much due to the configuration of the hydraulic circuit, as Dan mentioned last year.

I've moved probably 300 tons of stone with my BX loader without issue.

That said, there's a spot in that lower-right joystick position that the tractor doesn't like. After a little practice, I learned to work around it.

If I had a load of stone dumped tomorrow, it would likely take me a couple buckets to re-learn how to grab a bucket full, and from there-on out all would be smooth.

The reason it does not like that spot is the lift cylinders and bucket cylinders are connected in series which makes the curl and lift loads additive. The lift cylinders are also powering the curl cylinders and the combined forces can readily exceed the capacity of the lift cylinders. When that happens everything stalls.

I am going to give them a try. If they do what the seller claims I will be happy. If nothing else it will make loading the leaves into the dump truck a lot easier in the fall.

I dont think there is any doubt they do what the seller claims. The issue in the older discussion was could you accomplish the same thing for half the price. I still say yes.

You all must have bigger n&@$$ than me I don't like having my bucket up as high as it goes, and certainly wouldn't want it to go higher.

Also if you do, be very mindful that something that high up coming off the back of the bucket will really hurt when it clocks you on the head!

I never use the bucket to its fullest height, however, when cleaning up leaves it has always been a problem where to dump them. I doubt that a bucket full of leaves is going to cause me any problem as I dump them into the dump truck to take them away. I have a weight box in the back with over 600 pounds of counterweight for stability and loaded tires. Should I feel the slightest issue I will abandon the leave loading and removal.
Once I get them installed I will do a full evaluation of them and I am always cautious of my safety. I didn't get this old by being stupid!

Interesting that folks seem to know our use cases. I have .8 acres and a 2380. I’m irritated by the lift #, but also very iffy on angles. I have a decent amount of concrete work for forks. I also have very rocky soil and the bucket struggles, so I built a small shovel for planting and digging shrubs. I built a grapple that works fine for 12” x 8’ logs And brush, 156#. So another 250# will be helpful, equivalent to a 464. I’ll probably use it 5% of the time also for the height. At 175h, I think Kubota under configures the BX for the “homeowner”. You can bend things, I have, but being responsibl, you should be fine.

I've had a couple of instances where I wished the bucket could go higher.
I also wish I had a little more height for my post hole auger.
The tip of a 3? foot auger is in the dirt with the loader at full height and frame curled fully down (where it's supposed to be).

I was also considering the 35% additional lifting capacity of larger diameter cylinders, and separate from that would be one foot additional lifting height for lighter loads...but one thing the previous owner said is he put tubes in the BX front tires because they're over-stressed under full load and the rim bead would not hold the tire. He also said to always inflate the front tires to maximum pressure when using the FEL, even with the tubes.

Then there's the point about possibly over-stressing the front axles...

Thanks for the dialog, saved me money up front and maybe having to replace a set of axles.

The engineers that designed my BX loader are much smarter than me, so I have no desire to force the loader to do things that they obviously wanted to prevent it from doing 😉

There are several BX owners within the Facebook groups, who've had the HydrosPlus cylinders in use since release, and there have been more and more people doing the same, without issues. They do as advertised.

Several members within the groups have put the cylinders and their machines to the test, and operation...along with lift and capacity, increased.

I'm sold on them, I just haven't ordered them yet.

I'm still not seeing any proof of folks using them. I see a video where they show "how many lbs it can lift" with a scale, but still nothing showing it actually lifting a thing, either higher or bigger (heavier). Could you provide links to such things? I'm not calling you out, more so the company for failing to show actual use cases of their product doing the thing they claim. I want to believe that they'll work, but I'm not willing to drop $900 + a weekend of my time, to hopefully get something that may do a task better? I don't use facebook, and a simple search yields the same videos from a year ago..

I'd like to hear for some real users as well, especially if they UPGRADED the front tires. Check the sidewall rating if you want to know why....

You can add larger cylinders for $300. Lot less expensive experiment.
