Recently acquired a bx2230d. I am mechanically inclined in other areas but I’m new to tractors. I have not had the time to go through everything yet and figure out how everything works. I have searched and read many forums to see if I can find my specific problem with no success.
Loader doesn’t lift in normal function. The loader will lift if I use the curl function at the same time. The most I have had time to look into it, is I swapped the hoses. The loader will lift when I swapped them, but it is not strong enough to lift a full load. I am thinking it is a stuck valve, but I am hoping someone might be able to point me in the right direction. All other functions of the tractor seem to work properly. The loader is a la221. Thank you for any possible tips.

Do you mean a LA211 loader?

It's more likely to be a bad quick disconnects that is causing the issue.
Can be the male or female side of the disconnect and can be one or more.
Get 2 sets of them and replace both on the lift cylinder lines and see what that does for you.

These parts and location will vary depending on which version of the valve you have the loader equipped with.

Another possible cause is that one of the main lines is not seated properly or has a bad disconnect.

There is still the remote possibility that there is another issue going on, but not very likely.

Great little tractor - I owned one for many years. Would just mention that you have to rev the engine to get any useful hydraulic flow. The loader, for example won't do much with the rpm's near idle. Another tricky thing is making sure the 3 point lift lever is in the center (hold) position, not full up. If you have those taken care of and there's still an issue, there is something preventing proper hydraulic flow - connector, line, control valve, etc. Also what is the hydraulic fluid situation - quantity, condition, etc.?

That symptom points strongly to a problem with the power beyond circuit coming out of the loader valve.

COMMON CAUSES
  1. The power beyond quick coupler is bad or disconnected
  2. If equipped the third function valve is not in neutral
  3. If equipped the backhoe connections are bad or disconnected
  4. The 3pt is in the full up position and the feedback linkage is improperly adjusted
  5. If equipped a rear remote or backhoe valve is not in neutral
If you would like some help diagnosing those possibilities just yell.
