I have a 2019 Kubota L47 backhoe loader with about 280 hours. A couple months ago I had an issue with water in my fuel tank due to condensation. I replaced the fuel filter and bled the system and it started up and ran just fine for a few hours.

It sat for about 3 weeks. I went out this weekend to start it up. It started right up and then conked out in 5 seconds. I repeated this same thing about 5 more times. Each time it started and then stalled out within seconds.
So far I have checked the fuel lines for blockages, replaced fuel filter, bled the fuel system of air, checked fuel pump for proper operation, removed all fuel and replaced with new diesel.

Here is a video of what it is doing: https://youtube.com/shorts/q8Zc4mNLwK4

What am I missing? Any help is greatly appreciated.

My key switch went bad on my b7800 and it would go off as i released the from starting. I guess another thing x ould be the shutdown assembly.

Loosen this purge plug and turn the key on do you get pulsed fuel flow out of it?

An L47 is 100% electronic fuel system, not anything like an old B7800 mechanical fuel system, there is no shut down assembly.

Thanks for the recommendation. I will try that next. I do loosen that a few turns to purge the air but didn't think to see if diesel flows through it. I'll let you know!

Ok so I took this plug out and turned the key and a lot of fuel was spilling out. I'm thinking it is not the fuel system. Is it possible its something related to electrical system? I do remember hearing a loud click right before it stalled the first time. I checked all fuses and they are all good.

Watching the video of it shutting down it does appear to be electrical and not fuel related.
Is there any codes displayed on the dash?

It could be anything like something as simple as a seat switch that is not operating properly allowing it to start (as the seat switch is not part of the no start circuit), but then it does effect the run ability.
I would start there and then we are on to deeper issues.

Hey quick update on this. So turns out I tried starting yesterday and it turn on and stayed on. The idle was really bad but it didn't cut out. I'm now thinking the injector is clogged from my most recent bought with bad fuel. Do you think injector cleaner from tractor supply will work? Any other recommendations?

Hi all! Just circling back on this one. We ended up having a kubota dealer mechanic come out to my house. He replaced the fuel assy pump that controls the timing of flow to the injectors. Turns out that did not fix the problem. I used a winch to put it on my trailer and took it to the dealer. They think it is the diesel particulate filter. They told me it is not showing a code. I did shut it down accidentally during one of the cycles while it was burrning it off but that should not have caused it to break down. I'm trying to get this covered as I think it is pretty crazy that I'm dealing with exhaust issues with only 280 hours on the machine. Has anyone had this issue? The dealer is telling me it will need to get cleaned or replaced. A cleaning would be around $1,000 and replacement around $2,000. Should this be a warranty issue if it happened during my warranty period?
