Almost all of the Olympic activities were pretty normal. There were some great examples of patriotism and sportsmanship. It's too bad there were any exceptions, but it's not the first Olympics or last when that will happen.

The women's artistic gymnastics all around and team event which were very well supported by fans of the countries competing. Chants of USA were deafening in the arena. Frankly, I was shocked.

I didn't get to see any of the Tour de France stages (none were very close ... yeah I know they aren't the Olympics), but I did get to see men's road course go up and down the hill where my daughter lives. Amazing to see them go up that fast and down even faster. That was fun with lots of support along the road for the riders. And ... an American Woman won the race the next day.

There were some other great stories as well. American sprinter Noah Lyles unexpected lost. Later, it was revealed that he tested positive for Covid on Tues and lost the race on Thurs. I really can't imagine running the 200M sprint with Covid.

Jim- we enjoyed most of the track and field, which is our primary focus anyway. Saw some other sports, but more in passing. Can only watch so much water polo…..

We were sorry to see the games end.

Tell me you guys didn't enjoy watching the men's and women's basketball finals. Two great games!

Gabby Williams on the French team almost sent it to overtime at the last second and the men had a serious battle, also with the French team.

I wasn't interested in either game and really haven't watched much pro basketball since I was a kid. Like many people, I feel like WNBA missed an opportunity by not including Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark on the team. I caught the very end of the Women's game. They dodged a 2 foot bullet, right?

It does give you a strong feeling of a American when your watching and I'm sure most like myself can't comprehend the time the athletes put in.
I've watched a few Olympics and I must be getting older as the opening ceremony was the absolute oddest thing I ever watched.
Needless to say the closing ceremony I skipped.

I didn’t see opening or closing ceremonies.

They’ve seemed pretty squirrelly to me for 20 + years.

I’m not an artsy sort at all…lost on this red neck.

Not sure it was even 2' :)
But that would have only tied it and sent it into overtime.

Interesting fact, the woman that took that shot, Gabby Williams, was a UConn standout. Her mom is French so I guess that's how she ended up on the French team.

I'm a college basketball fan of 50+ years. Syracuse University is my alma mater and ardent fan. Been a challenge to be a fan last 10 years.

Like Jim, haven't followed NBA or WNBA ever.

That said, we did watch both the men's and women's Gold Medal games. Obviously VERY pleased with the results!

It was amazing that BILLIONS of dollars of payroll were vey challenged in both games. They were both very close.

What surprised me was the 3-3 half court basketballl?!?!?!

Isn't basketball basketball? Do they have to have events for full AND half court?

I didn't see any "Breaking" and didn't miss it. Not sorry if it doesn't come back.

I did miss all men's wrestling. Our daughters' former classmate missed medals (USA), and I wasn't able to route for him.

Same for their former teammate in hammer throw. Only saw a couple brief coverages of the competition. He didn't medal either, but both of the fellows made finals IIRC.
