Hi folks! I have been monitoring this site picking up great information for a while and appreciate all the good info.

I have a B7100 and ran across a B6100 with a factory loader installed that is cheaper than I can purchase a coldwater loader unit (with shipping). Will a B6100 unit fit a B7100? Is the factory loader a good loader and what should I look for to check out how good of shape the loader is in.

The owner of the B6100 says everything works but the engine "blows smoke/oil out of the blow-by pipe" so I guess there are some issues there. He says the tires are good so I'm thinking if the loader is ok I could come away with a loader and tires/wheels for around 2K.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

I'd say go over the B6100 and get that striaght and have two tractors. I mean who wouldn't want two tractors right?? The loader should cross over and fit but could be a head ache to tap into the hydraulics on the B7100 or to try and find a front pump to power a loader.

It should fit, although that can depend on which B7100 you have. If there are some minor frame differences, that should be overcome without too much trouble. I would investigate what is wrong with the B6100, and if it is feasible, fix it and sell it- you might come out with a loader for little or no money.

I have the B219 on my B7100 manual drive. It came with plates to extend the subframe for a longer chassis. I always assumed that was for a hydro. If both tractors are either manual or hydro, you shouldn't have a problem, if I am right on why it came withe subframe extension.

My B219 also came with a hydraulic pump that runs off of the splines on the front of the crank shaft. I am not sure the B7100 or the B6100 had enough hydraulic capacity to run the FEL without the auxiliary pump.

I agree with Hodge, I would try to fix up the B6100 and sell it.

Sounds like a great find. I gave $1200 for my FEL and then put another $600 into fixing it up with new hoses, sand blasting and power coat. Here is a picture of it before I restored it.

The 1980 sales brochure for my tractor shows a front loader (presumably a B219) on all three models B5100, B6100, B7100. I have seen the B219 loader on each of these models, but I'm not sure if there are mounting variations for each. The nomenclature tag should be on the inside of the left upright if it is a B219 loader, and maybe someone who has the models in question will know more about the mounting variations, if any.

Thanks guys! I really appreciate all the advice and help.

Due unforeseen family commitments I can't get away to see the tractor in person for a couple of days. Hopefully it will still be available.

I really appreciate the great pictures in the posts.

I can see from the pics when you turn your muffler vertical an extension is needed to keep from sucking fumes. Is this a Kubota part or more simply an off-the-shelf item?

Also I have seen several ideas for ballast weight. I was thinking about building a box mold to fill with concrete. Pros or cons?

I really like factory attachments, I bought my loader 2 years ago and rebuilt the entire unit and it works GREAT, I have yet to wrench on it since been on the tractor.

In the case of the B7100, I think there was a factory option for the tall pipe, but I made mine from a piece of 1 3/8" exhaust tubing. It originally was horizontal with a 4" long stub coming out of the muffler- lots of fumes.
Lots of people have made & like the concrete ballast boxes, (or barrels) but for me they aren't practical because it would interfere with using my rear implements. With no rear implements, it's a cheap way to go.

I put fluid in all four tires to stabilize my B7100. I lifted items weighing about 600 lbs, which was the limit of my B219 and didn't have much trouble without a rear ballast. I did find that I needed to have it in FWD when going down hill with a load. The back wheels will slide because of the weight being transferred to the front.

Well, things changed quickly over the past 4 days. I was offered a 2005 Kubota BX23 with loader and backhoe for $8800. The BX23 has 400 hours and has been well maintained and garage kept.

I decided to buy the BX23 this morning with the hope I could sell my B7100 quickly. Unbelievably my B7100 sold this afternoon. So for around $3800 I have a loader, backhoe, and 12 year newer tractor with half the hours.

I do appreciate all the replies and have been having fun learning my "new" orange tractor.

I know this is an old thread. But which backhoe is on the tractor?

B670. This was the factory option for this model. Pretty hard to find, and usually thrashed.
